Chapter 131: The Last WarAuthor: Geraint
Ichika received the news that Endeavor and Hawks had successfully defeated the High-End Nomu, but both were seriously injured and had been sent to the hospital.
He gathered the remaining top Pro Heroes, and two weeks later, they were planning a raid on Jaku Hospital, where All for One was hiding, along with his remaining subordinates.
The police raid on Jaku General Hospital was being orchestrated by the Police Force, led by Naomasa Tsukauchi, and a large team of Pro Heroes led by Ichika, with the intention of capturing Kyudai Garaki and All for One.
"Shouldn't we perform investigations first before launching this raid? What if we're mistaken?" All Might asked.
"Don't worry. I've already spoken with the Police Force and presented all the evidence. Everything here is legal."
Detective Tsukauchi gathered everyone for a briefing before the mission began. He explained that one of their primary targets was Kyudai Garaki, a former supporter of the League of Villains, who had been masquerading as a normal doctor. Garaki was also the founder of Jaku General Hospital and head of its board of officials. They had learned that All for One's corpse had been missing the entire time, with Garaki as their prime suspect.
Naomasa announced, "Our first objective is to arrest the Doctor and prevent All for One from awakening."
"Let's go."
Ichika, now in his young adult form and wearing his Captain Falcon costume, led the team into the hospital, surprising the staff members. Before long, he located Doctor Garaki, who was calmly walking through the hallways, oblivious to the impending raid. He thought to himself about how All for One's procedure would be finished in a few months. His daydream was interrupted when Ichika called out to him from behind.
"Doctor Garaki! You're All for One's right hand, right? Where is he?!"
Garaki turned around to find Endeavor and Ichika standing before him. He screamed in terror as he realized the danger he was in.
The Doctor turned and fled in panic as Ichika and his team pursued him. However, Garaki tripped and began rapidly aging due to Shota Aizawa's Erasure Quirk. Ichika quickly surmised that the registry had been wrong and that the doctor actually possessed a Quirk that de-aged him. Naomasa speculated on how the doctor had been using such Quirks, while Present Mic grabbed the elderly man and demanded to know why he hadn't used these powers for good.
Ichika angrily revealed that Garaki had taken his friend's corpse and turned him into a Nomu, which only added fuel to the fire for both Eraserhead and Present Mic.
The other doctors in the vicinity intervened, forcing Present Mic to stop roughing up Garaki. The heroes quickly evacuated the remaining personnel from the hospital. While most of the heroes focused on evacuations, Mirko made her way straight for the morgue. Eraserhead tied up Garaki with his binding weapon and declared, "This is revenge for everyone you've hurt."
Ichika checked in with Mirko through their communication devices. She headed deeper into the hideout and discovered Nomu emerging from the shadows.
Be careful! A bunch of Nomus are coming!
Mirko's warning rang out just as several Nomus burst through the hospital walls, attacking the heroes. One of the larger Nomus managed to pierce Garaki's body, revealing that he had been a double, created by a duplicate version of Twice's Quirk.
Ichika turned toward All Might as multiple Nomus leapt at him. Without looking, he dodged their attacks effortlessly.
"I leave everything here to you, Dad. You've been itching for a fight since your retirement."
All Might gave him a thumbs-up and his signature smile.
"I'll back up Mirko! Everyone, stay careful!"
Ichika opened a portal and disappeared into it.
Meanwhile, the real Doctor Garaki had been devoting all his time to All for One, while his double had been handling everything at the hospital. Realizing the full extent of his life's work was at risk, Garaki regretted having to flee the hospital. He ordered Johnny to warp him and All for One away immediately. But before they could escape, Mirko suddenly burst through the wall, crushing Johnny under the debris.
"Found you! Are you the real one?" she asked.
All Garaki could do was scream in terror.
"Waaahhh!"
"First, let's find out if you're really the real one!"
"I'm not into violence!"
Mirko crashed into the lab, destroying multiple Nomu tanks and duplication equipment along with Johnny.
"Ichika! I think I found the real one!" she called out, but there was no response.
"Huh?"
Just as she was about to investigate further, someone poked her side, causing her to jump in surprise.
"Kyaah!"
"I'm here."
Ichika appeared suddenly behind her.
"What the heck, Ichika!"
Ichika was momentarily surprised when he saw a large Nomu wearing a tattered suit inside the chamber.
"That's..."
"What?! Captain Falcon?!"
The Doctor gasped in disbelief.
"Rumi!"
"You don't have to tell me!"
Mirko rushed toward the Doctor, threatening to kick him in order to confirm if he was a double. Garaki screamed, about to activate the High-End Nomu. Before she could strike him, another small Nomu named Mocha stopped her, but Mirko quickly killed it with a single kick.
Swearing revenge for Mocha, Garaki activated five High-End Nomu and ordered them to slaughter the heroes.
The High-End Nomus immediately converged on Mirko. Though she injured a few with powerful kicks, one of them sent her flying into the walls of the lab.
"Rumi, are you okay?"
"Ugh... I'm fine!" Mirko grinned through the pain, her head bleeding from the attack.
Ichika hid his concern for her and focused solely on the enemies in front of him.
He was quickly confronted by one of the five Nomu, who recognized him as the bounty hunter, Captain Falcon.
"Captain Falcon... I'll never forgive... you."
"I will... kill you, Falcon."
"Revenge... Captain Falcon..."
"Kill... Kill... Kill!"
"Unforgivable... Falcon!"
The five Nomu spoke in unison, and Ichika immediately recognized their voices.
"So, you guys are the ones I captured during my bounty hunter days. Still holding grudges even after death?"
Meanwhile, Garaki was busy accelerating All for One's procedure, with the High-End Nomu holding off Mirko and Ichika. Mirko, recovering from her surprise attack, grinned, clearly excited for what was to come.
