201 looks shocked by Madocks outburst but quickly runs out to see if there was someone at the border.
Madock looks at me and sigh "I just hope I'm wrong about this or things are going to get very difficult for us, mostly you my queen"
"and just what is that supposed to mean, you know all you warlocks are the same speaking in riddles" delphyne huffs out seeming exasperated, not that I don't feel the same way at the moment.
"Alright before anyone else gets angry, madock please explain what you think you know, cause I defiantly have no idea what's going on" I look directly at him waiting for a response.
Madock takes a deep breath " If I think what's happening is happening then you are not going to like it" he looks to me I just stare back waiting for him to continue. "Fine, I suspect that the person who just crossed out border is in fact your mate my queen, I think that your wolf has been reacting and trying to come out as this person has been getting closer to us..."
"No stop there. You're wrong. I normally don't doubt you, but on this occasion you are wrong" I state firmly. I get up a little dizzy but feeling much better. Lestat moves to help me but I stop him with my hand. "I'm okay we just need to focus on meeting with Magnus, on that note lest move to the meeting room" I look at madock and he knows not to bring his thoughts back up. It can't be true, I won't allow it.
We all move into the meeting room and take our seats, there has never been a formal seating arrangement except that I'm in the most central position. Lestat sits to my left, David next to him and then flora on the end. Madock sits on my right with Delphyne next to him and an empty chair at the end for 201. We wait patently to see if 201 found Magnus at the border. How could madock be right, if he is then Magnus the son of the wolf king is my mate, what a sick joke the so called moon goddess would be playing. I start to smell something coming closer, smells like fresh pine and an earthy smell, if I was to describe it I would say smells like a forest. I don't like this, my heart rate picks up, I'm normally calm and in control, I have to be. Madock grabs my hand that I have made into a fist on the table, I hadn't even known I was doing that.
"Relax, if he's your mate we will work it out" madock whispers to me. I try to take a deep breath but that just makes me smell the forests smell even more. There's a knock at the door and then 201 comes in when he move out the way I see behind him a man, who while he looks average when I look into his deep green eyes feels like and entire forests could be found in there and then my wolf says the only words that make me panic "mate".
The man freezes when he looks at me his eyes wide and he whispers "mate". 201 is quick to grab his arm and hold him back, everything that happens next feels like its in slow motion which I realise is a real cliche but it's what it feels like. Lestat and delphyne are up and ready to fight hissing at Magnus, Flora and David both look like lost children, 201 is glaring and growling at Magnus and Madock is looking at me and trying to get my attention.
"My queen, please look at me" I finally break my staring contest with Magnus and look to madock. "Good I'm sorry this has happened and I know you are confused and probably struggling, but you need to get everyone calmed down" He was right I'm supposed to be looking after everyone and be the one in control I can't check out know.
"Everyone calm down and sit down in your seats" the growling and hissing stop but no one moves. "Lestat, delphyne sit back down now" they both slowly sit back in their chairs. "201 let go of him and sit in your seat" he hesitates but moves to his chair. "Magnus" I look back at him finally, "I am the queen voting in by this community, sorry you're welcome was not the most gracious, please take a seat and we can all talk" I point to the chair on the other side of the table from us.
Magnus looks at me confused "are you not going to talk about the fact we are mates?" he questions me.
"Not right now, no. We have more important and pressing things to discus, that issue can wait" he looks stunned, but relents and sits in the chair. This is going to be one of the hardest meetings I have had in a long time.
