Chapter 1 - chapter 1 My birth

Everyone knows that the Moon Goddess was once like us—a werewolf before she ascended and became the most important figure in werewolf history. Once every blue moon, she blesses a pack with a rare and radiant white wolf. These wolves, whether male or female, are born with a precise mission meant to bring peace and prosperity to their people. Each one carries extraordinary gifts.

One tribe was blessed with twins born to their Alpha. Their daughter possessed the gift of the great wolf Artemis, the ability to sense poison or danger meant for anyone she held dear.

But that is not where my story begins.

My story begins on the day I was born—late October.

My tribe, the Silver Lake Wolf Pack, is unlike any other. For generations, we have served as the sworn protectors of the Moon Goddess herself should she ever walk among mortals again. In return for our loyalty, she blessed our bloodline with a sacred power known as the Flame of the Phoenix, a gift that could never be taken from us.

At least… that was true until the day I was born.

I was born on October 29th, two days before Halloween.

My birth was anything but normal. My mother suffered countless complications while bringing me into this world, but despite everything, she refused to give up. Yet when I was finally born to the great Alpha Marcel and Luna Rebecca, I did not cry.

I did not breathe.

I was born a stillborn pup.

My parents were devastated. According to the elders, my mother held my tiny body against her chest while my father begged the Moon Goddess to spare me. They prayed with broken hearts, pleading for life to return to their daughter.

What they didn't know was that the Moon Goddess herself stood beside them, silently crying over my lifeless body.

"Oh, child," she whispered softly, cradling me in her glowing hands. "Such a beautiful little one, yet so fragile. Why will you not breathe? Your parents mourn because you make no sound."

The elders described her as breathtaking beyond imagination. Her hair flowed like a silver river under moonlight, white as fresh snow with streaks of silver and gold woven through it. Her eyes were the color of the open summer sky, ancient and sorrowful all at once. The gown she wore shimmered with celestial light, something no mortal or supernatural being could ever recreate.

Then she spoke again.

"Dear child, I shall bless you with life, for you are destined to do great and wondrous things. You carry my true blood within you, and none of my enemies shall harm you. Your mission will surpass all who came before you. Your mate will wait to protect you when you reach your twenty-first year. On that day, I shall return to you, my child."

Her voice softened into a whisper.

"Awaken now, for your future is bright."

And then… I cried.

The elders immediately called for my parents, who rushed into the room overwhelmed with relief and joy. They celebrated my miraculous survival, unable to understand what had truly happened. My mother often tells me that when they entered the room, I was glowing beneath the moonlight as though the Goddess herself had placed me in their arms.

The elders swore an oath never to reveal the truth of that night. All they told my parents was this:

I must be protected at all costs.

I was never to be left alone.

Growing up as the elder princess of the Silver Lake Tribe was both a blessing and a curse. Everyone expected greatness from me, yet no one truly understood why. The Moon Goddess had plans for me—plans far bigger than anything I could comprehend.

And honestly?

The Goddess' plans were never something I fully understood.
