Gu Ningyue dried her hair and stepped out of the bathroom just as Ling Tianyou turned off the main light in the bedroom. Only the small bedside lamp illuminated the room.
"Are you going to sleep?" Gu Ningyue asked Ling Tianyou.
Ling Tianyou nodded, "I'm a bit tired."
Gu Ningyue responded, "Then you go ahead and sleep! I need to apply the ointment first, or by the time the actual wedding comes around, the scars on my body will be the main attraction."
Besides the wedding dress she'd already chosen, Gu Ningyue needed two additional outfits for greeting the guests.
A wedding happens just once in a lifetime, and Gu Ningyue didn't want her body full of scars to ruin this rare moment of happiness.
Hearing this, Ling Tianyou said to Gu Ningyue, "Let me apply the ointment for you."
Gu Ningyue turned away from the vanity, "You?"
Ling Tianyou nodded, "What? Are you afraid I won't do it right?"
Gu Ningyue laughed, "No, I'm just worried you'd be disgusted..."
