Jun Mo Xie continued enjoying the meal with the Xuan Beast Kings, laughter echoing through the clearing as cups of wine clinked together one after another.
The round stone table was already crowded, powerful figures sitting shoulder to shoulder without any sense of hierarchy.
The night air of Tian Fa Forest was cool and refreshing. The Xuan Qi drifted lazily through the clearing, mixing with the aroma of roasted meat and fine wine.
The old trees stood silently around them, acting as witnesses to this rare gathering.
These beings who could command storms and shake mountains were now laughing loudly, arguing playfully, and drinking without restraint.
Big Bear's booming laughter rang out again as he slammed his cup down. "Brother-in-law, your wine tolerance hasn't dropped, right? Don't tell me humans made you weak!"
"You wish." Jun Mo Xie snorted. He poured himself another cup, his movements relaxed. "You're the one drinking like a bottomless pit."
Earth Cracker grinned and leaned back lazily, while Long Crane shook his head with a helpless smile. Even the newly appointed Xuan Beast Kings, sitting a little farther away, watched the scene with respect and admiration.
To them, Jun Mo Xie was not only Mei Xue Yan's man, but also someone who could create Saints and Monarchs casually on a whim.
Just as the atmosphere grew even livelier, a soft and melodious voice suddenly echoed from deep within the Tian Fa Forest.
The voice was calm, gentle, and clear, carrying a natural authority that did not need to be announced. It flowed through the trees like a breeze, instantly reaching every ear in the clearing.
The laughter stopped, and the wine cups froze mid-air.
The Xuan Beast Kings paused almost at the same time, their expressions changing subtly. One by one, they slowly turned their heads toward the direction of the voice, their instincts responding faster than thought.
Jun Mo Xie also paused.
The cup in his hand hovered just before his lips. His brows lifted slightly as he turned his head, eyes narrowing toward the forest path. A faint smile began to form before he even fully saw the figures approaching.
From the shadows between the large trees, two beautiful women walked forward at an unhurried pace.
The woman in front was breathtaking.
She was dressed in flowing white, the fabric hugging her graceful figure perfectly as it fluttered softly with her steps. Her long hair flowed freely down her back, shining faintly under the moonlight. Her presence alone seemed to calm the restless Xuan Qi of the forest, as though Tian Fa itself acknowledged her.
She looked like an immortal fairy who had descended into the mortal world.
Jun Mo Xie's smile widened instantly, warmth filling his eyes without the slightest attempt to hide it. He stood up slightly from his seat and greeted her openly, his voice relaxed and affectionate.
"Xue Yan, you're finally here… you look beautiful."
Mei Xue Yan's steps slowed for just a moment.
A faint blush crept onto her face, spreading quickly as she realized how many eyes were now fixed on her. Being praised so openly was one thing, but being teased like this in front of all her younger siblings made her heart flutter in an unfamiliar way.
She shot Jun Mo Xie a sharp glare and scolded, "Shut your mouth!"
Yet her voice lacked any real anger. Instead, it carried a trace of embarrassment, and beneath that, a hint of happiness she could not hide.
The Xuan Beast Kings exchanged glances almost instantly.
Big Bear grinned from ear to ear, his eyes shining with mischief.
Earth Cracker nearly choked on his wine, while a few of the brothers quickly turned their heads away, pretending to admire the scenery.
Long Crane rubbed his temples, already feeling secondhand embarrassment for his eldest sister.
Jun Mo Xie laughed softly, completely unfazed. Turning back toward the table, he waved his hand casually and said, "Continue the meal without me. I need to have a private chat with my girlfriend."
Mei Xue Yan's face flushed even deeper, her ears turning red as she snapped back immediately, "Who is your girlfriend?! Don't say such nonsense!"
Her reaction only fueled the suppressed laughter around the table.
Big Bear slapped the stone surface loudly and laughed. "Brother-in-law really doesn't hold back!"
Long Crane coughed lightly and looked away. "Fourth brother, watch your mouth."
Jun Mo Xie paid them no mind. Still smiling, he finished the wine in his cup in a single gulp, placing it down with a light clink. He stood up fully and walked toward Mei Xue Yan, his steps calm and unhurried, as though the noisy world behind him had faded away.
Mei Xue Yan instinctively took half a step back, then quickly stopped herself, biting her lower lip slightly. Beside her, Mei Qianxun covered her mouth, clearly enjoying the scene far too much.
Under the soft moonlight filtering through the canopy, Jun Mo Xie stopped in front of Mei Xue Yan, his gaze gentle and unwavering.
Behind them, the Xuan Beast Kings returned to their drinking, but none of them were truly focused on the wine anymore.
Every single one of them was watching.
Jun Mo Xie smiled softly and lifted his hand. His fingers gently brushed aside a loose strand of hair that had fallen across Mei Xue Yan's cheek, tucking it neatly behind her ear.
The movement was natural, intimate, as if he had done it countless times before.
Mei Xue Yan stiffened.
In the next instant, the tips of her ears turned a vivid shade of red, spreading downward to her neck. She lowered her head slightly and groaned under her breath, leaning closer to him as she whispered, "Don't… don't do that in front of everyone."
Her voice was low, almost pleading, carrying both embarrassment and helpless annoyance.
Jun Mo Xie paused. Seeing her reaction, the smile on his lips deepened, but this time it softened. He obediently pulled his hand back, lifting both palms slightly as if surrendering.
"Alright, alright," He said lightly, amusement still dancing in his eyes.
He studied her face for a moment before asking calmly, "How are you doing? Now that Tian Fa Forest has grown to this level… are you happy?"
Mei Xue Yan raised her eyes to look at him.
For a brief moment, all the noise from the clearing behind them faded away. Her gaze was filled with a deep, unmistakable affection.
There was warmth, trust, and something even deeper, something forged through shared danger, sacrifice, and unspoken understanding.
But then, her expression wavered, and an image flashed through her mind.
The reason behind his ruthless attack on Xue Hun Manor.
The woman he was protecting.
Her lips pressed together. A faint huff escaped her nose as she puffed her cheeks and turned her head away sharply, her long hair swaying with the motion.
The jealousy she had been suppressing finally leaked out, obvious and unhidden.
Jun Mo Xie blinked, then burst into a quiet laugh. He leaned closer and teased gently, "You look really cute like this."
Mei Xue Yan's eyes widened slightly. "You—!"
"But honestly," Jun Mo Xie continued calmly, his tone half-amused, half-serious, "aren't you just being jealous for no reason?"
She clenched her fists, clearly irritated, but didn't look back at him.
Jun Mo Xie sighed softly.
"If not for your promise," He added, his eyes darkening for a brief instant, "I would've already wiped out those bastards from the Three Holy Lands for your sake."
Mei Xue Yan's heart trembled.
Before she could say anything, Jun Mo Xie reached out again, this time resting his palm gently on her head. His touch was light, careful, as if she were something precious and fragile.
"You're too soft when it comes to your enemies," He said quietly. "But you really don't have any reason to be jealous of Qing Han."
Mei Xue Yan finally turned back to him.
Jun Mo Xie met her gaze without hesitation. His voice grew firm, steady, and sincere. "If you were in her place… I would've done the same thing... or even more."
His hand lingered, gently patting her head. "For me, both of you are just as important as my life."
For a second, Mei Xue Yan froze completely, and then her face turned beet red.
The steam practically rose from her head as she stared at him in shock.
Her heart pounded wildly in her chest, completely unprepared for such direct, shameless words. Embarrassment, anger, and happiness tangled together into chaos.
"You—! You—!" She stammered, lifting her fist, clearly wanting to beat him senseless on the spot. "How can you say something so… so shamelessly romantic?!"
Jun Mo Xie laughed openly, completely unafraid.
Behind them, from the stone table, several Xuan Beast Kings were pretending very hard not to listen, though their twitching ears and barely suppressed grins exposed them entirely.
Mei Xue Yan bit her lip, torn between fury and warmth, her heart betraying her completely.
In the end, she could only turn away again with a huff, muttering under her breath, while her cheeks burned brighter than ever.
