Chapter 554 - Ch 174 - A Sharp Ambush

That afternoon, the Jun Residence became unusually quiet. Earlier, more than two hundred imperial guards had been gathered inside, but now not even a shadow remained.

Under Jun Mo Xie's orders, they had split into small tactical groups and disappeared through different routes across the capital.

The operation was precise and silent, leaving behind nothing but an empty courtyard and the faint scent of movement.

Anyone unaware would never believe an army had stood there hours earlier.

Jun Mo Xie stayed hidden until the perfect moment. He waited patiently, watching from afar as experts from the Blood Sword Hall clashed with Lei Wu Bei's disciple.

Only after the disciple fell did Jun Mo Xie finally decide to make his move. His lips curled into an eager grin, one that carried both boredom and anticipation.

"Finally, it's my turn to play," He muttered to himself with excitement barely contained in his tone. "I've been waiting long enough. All of you played your little game so fiercely, yet most of you are still alive. That alone makes this elder brother very unhappy."

His voice drifted through the darkness like a cold breeze.

He continued speaking, tone light but dripping with mockery. "Blood Sword Hall is 'amazing'? Don't make me laugh. Trash gathered in a group is still trash. That bastard Yang thinks you people are impressive. In my eyes, you're nothing more than expensive garbage."

The red-clothed leader stiffened and spun toward the source of the voice. His expression shifted from alertness to anger. "Who is there? Show yourself!"

A snort echoed back, amused and arrogant.

"I am your father, your dear daddy. Now hurry up and kowtow, you ungrateful little brat."

The insult landed like a slap, and the red-clothed leader roared, "You're courting death!"

Without hesitation, he swung his sword, sending a powerful slash of Sky Xuan energy through the air.

A few moments earlier, that power had been enough to kill a Sky Xuan expert cleanly, without resistance.

But this time, something was wrong.

The energy slash weakened mid-flight. It flickered, shrank, and dissolved as if swallowed by the air itself. The red-clothed leader's pupils contracted in disbelief.

"H-How... how is that possible?" He stuttered. His Sky Xuan Qi felt unstable and drained, as though something had forcibly interrupted the flow.

Jun Mo Xie laughed, and this time the laughter wasn't loud, but it carried a cruel thrill. "In my world, the only thing that doesn't exist is the word 'impossible.'"

Then his voice dropped into a command that was cold, short, and deadly.

"Complete the task."

The ground responded before the Blood Sword Hall even understood what that meant. A deep rumble surged beneath their feet, followed by a series of powerful explosions.

The Soil shot upward in waves, dust clouded the air, and from hidden tunnels and shadows, black-clad figures burst forth at terrifying speed.

There was no warning and no space to retreat.

The ambushers closed in instantly, giving the Blood Sword Hall not even a single breath to prepare. A dozen blades, fists, and poisons flashed like lightning across the battlefield.

The leader of the red-clothed men drew breath to respond, but instead received a violent kick to his crotch. His body folded in agony, and before he could scream, a hard strike slammed into the back of his skull. His vision blurred as he staggered forward, only to find his attacker already waiting in front of him.

A relentless storm of blows rained down on him so quickly his body could not even fall until the assault ended.

The battlefield had begun in chaos and ended just as swiftly.

The black-clad attackers fought with brutal efficiency. Every blade carried a deadly poison that turned flesh black instantly upon piercing skin.

Even Sky Xuan cultivators collapsed after less than a breath, unable to resist the toxin's terrifying potency.

By the time the dust settled, the result was absolute.

Three Sky Xuan experts were captured alive.

Fifteen Earth Xuan experts and forty Jade Xuan elites lay dead.

None of the fifty-two corpses was intact; limbs, flesh, and bone were scattered as if wild beasts had torn them apart. The forest floor resembled a butcher's yard rather than a battlefield, soaked in blood and covered in the remains of what minutes ago were elite warriors.

In the midst of the ruin stood Jun Mo Xie, hands tucked casually behind his back, wearing an expression more fitting of someone admiring a painting than someone standing among carnage.

"Well," He murmured with satisfaction, "now that looks much better."

The cold air blew through the trees, carrying away the last breath of the Blood Sword Hall forces. The battlefield fell silent, completely and utterly silent.

Jun Mo Xie's ambush had ended faster than it began.

And not a single enemy had escaped.

Jun Mo Xie stood in the center of the carnage, his robes fluttering faintly in the cold mountain breeze. The blood stained the soil, broken weapons lay scattered everywhere, and the air still carried the heavy scent of steel and death. His eyes swept over the battlefield with calm indifference, as if he were merely inspecting an orchard rather than a slaughterhouse.

After a brief silence, he lifted his hand and spoke in a firm but unhurried tone,

"Quickly sweep the battlefield! If an enemy still breathes, remedy it with a knife. Take care of our injured. Retrieve the crossbows carefully... do not leave a single trace. Move!"

His command cut through the silence like a blade.

The soldiers immediately straightened, their exhaustion vanishing under the authority in his voice.

"Yes, Young Master!"

Their response was loud, unified, and filled with respect and excitement. Some even carried a hint of fear.

Like wolves smelling blood, the men moved. Blades flashed as injured foes met their final fate.

The wounded from the Jun family's side were helped up, bandaged, or escorted away.

The specially modified crossbows were gathered with extreme caution, as though each piece was a treasure more valuable than gold.

Meanwhile, Jun Mo Xie tilted his head slightly and gazed toward the dark, wooded mountains in the distance. His eyes narrowed with thought that was cold, calculating, and faintly amused.

He lightly stretched his wrist, as though nothing that had occurred here deserved any weight in his heart.

The cleanup was swift and efficient. Within minutes, the battlefield that moments ago was full of sound, chaos, and screams fell into a deathly silence.

Blood and flesh remained, alongside the broken bodies.

But no signs of who had fought here, nothing that could be traced back to the Jun family.

Only the dismembered corpses were left scattered across the ground, silently telling the story of a brutal, one-sided massacre.

Once everything was done, Jun Mo Xie gave a simple nod.

"Good. Withdraw now."

The men mounted their horses in practiced coordination. Hooves thundered across the dirt, and in a matter of breaths, the troops vanished into the forest like ghosts.

The entire operation was swift, silent, without leaving a single footprint worth finding.

When the sound of horses finally faded, the night wind whispered across the battlefield.

Only blood soaked into the earth was the proof that the Third Young Master Jun had begun to move, and the world would soon tremble because of it.
