Chapter 5 - * The Abomination Lived:

Slayer was brought back to the present when a loud shriek erupted from the forest floor. He stood there a little bit longer before deciding he better get back inside and find his faithful servant, Malice.

He had been standing on the tower now for quite some time, enjoying the fresh air and the beauty that the night brought upon the lands. Malice was Slayer's most trusted servant and also his second in command.

Slayer had gotten Malice when he was a newborn baby, while he was taking a walk through the forest; about eighteen years ago. Slayer remembered the day clearly...

******************

It had been a calm, sunny summer day. Slayer had been cooped up in his study all day and he got Bored of just sitting inside the Palace, taking care of things that needed his attention. He had been busy looking over the trading business he had with the neighboring territories.

He had figured some fresh air and a walk would do him some good, it had been awhile since he had went down to the Howler's village; that was at the base of the mountain.

When Slayer had reached the bottom of the mountain, he proceeded to enter into the dark, dense forest. He came to notice that someone else was on the trail, walking towards him. It was one of the Kamairas who belonged to the Howler's Clan, the Stronger Kamaira Clan.

Slayer noticed the Kamaira was carrying something that was wrapped in a blanket; and was so immersed in it's thoughts that he almost walked right into Slayer before it noticed it was about to collide with someone on the path.

When the Kamaira noticed who in fact the person was who it barely missed running into, the Kamaira straightened up and bowed his head immediately to the Lord.

"My apologies, Sir." The Kamaira said quickly and respectfully to Slayer.

Slayer nodded to the Kamaira, letting him know he accepted his greeting and could talk to him freely.

"Were you heading towards the Palace?" Slayer asked.

"Your Majesty, I was on my way to the Palace, needing to speak to You about a situation that has come up in the village, and it's something that needs your immediate attention, Sir." The Kamaira's name was Beast. The strongest and fiercest Warrior of the Howler's Clan, he was also Slayer's troop Commander and he took care of the trading of goods to and from Damns Hollow with the neighboring territories. Beast, was also in charge of overlooking the lands security and making sure that none tried an attack or the other neighboring kingdoms didn't try to sneak in a spy. He was commander of slayer's army and warriors. He was slayer's second in command.

Beast, served Slayer faithfully and loyally since he started his Reign in Damns Hollow and he became a good comrade and friend to Slayer over the years.

Beast was older than Slayer, and he had been the one who taught the young Lord about the Kamaira Clans and Beast helped in getting the Kamaira's to accept Slayer as their Lord without unnecessary hostility and going into a battle that would have been futile for them going into, losing many lives that weren't needed to be lost.

Beast was one of the very few who could come to Slayer and talk to him freely without needing to request an audience with the Lord first. He had earned that right with Slayer to say whatever was on his mind, without filter.

"What's the situation?" Slayer asked seeming unfazed and uninterested by Beast's words.

Beast knew better than most Slayer's characteristics, so didn't mind his passive, unenthused response. "Sire one of our females died a little bit ago while giving birth to her pup." Beef growled darkly. Slayer couldn't help but be a little confused as to why Beast would find this to be something that needed his attention.

Beast could see the obvious confusion and noticed the puzzled look in slayer's eyes. So he continued to inform the Lord. " The reason why I'm bringing seemingly unimportant matter to your attention sire, is it not as simple a matter as it first appears to be. And also, it's not so much the newly deceased mother Kamaira dying during childbirth that's what troubling about this situation, but it's the Kamaira pup that she died giving birth to that is the problem." Beast said the last part coldly and with obvious disgust he didn't care to try and cover up..

Slayer wondered what could be so concerning about the pup the Kamaira mother had given birth to that Beast found troubling enough to inform him about it.

"I'm listening." Was all Slayer said for Beast to continue with filling him in on the birth of the pup that this Kamaira died delivering and what the problem was.

Beast took a minute to continue talking, clearly thinking of how he should go about telling Slayer what it was that he needed to inform him of the situation at hand. Looking down at what he held in his arms with a cold, dark expression showing on his face. " The Pup that the mother Kamaira died giving birth to... Lived. Unfortunately and it shouldn't have. The thing that lived is nothing but an Abomination."

" An Abomination?" Slayer couldn't help but be a little curious of what made this newborn Kamaira, be looked at as an abomination. He wondered what made it an abomination to the Kamaira clan? So Slayer went on to ask; "Is it the abomination that is wrapped in that blanket that you're holding?"Slayer ass as his eyes fell down to be arm.

"It is" Beast said look on his face that showed that it was in fact something that he shouldn't even be touching. The look of pure Disgust and loathing, obvious Beast's face. " If I may ask for your Majesty's permission to get rid and dispose of this thing and immediately before the rest of the village should hear of such a thing being born? This is the reason I was on my way to see you, in hopes that you'd allow and understand the urgency of my request. With it taken care of and killed it'll be easier to cover up and hide the truth of such disgrace of a thing like this being born." Beast snarled, with his snout curling up to show his razor sharp teeth and his black serpent like tongue licking his lips. His eyes glowed with cruel intent as he stared down at the bundle in his hand.

Slayer couldn't help but be more interested by what in fact this Kamaira pup was to receive such a warm welcome and what about it was causing such a reaction out of Beast? It was becoming very intriguing to Slayer.

"What did the Young Kamaira mother mate with? She must have bred outside of the Kamaira Clans to have her pup looked as an abomination. Am I right?" Slayer asked Beast.

"It would appear that somehow without it ever being known, the young Kamaira mother was involved with a Night Creature from the Demon City, Sprague. The one that is in the land of the Deadly Plains, Sire." Beast informed Slayer with Utter hate clearly noticeable in his voice.

"A Night Creature? How are you sure that it was a Night Creature that the Young Kamaira was involved with?" Slayer couldn't hide the irritation in his voice, or the expression on his face that showed he found this information to be bothersome. Slayer wanted to make sure what he heard from Beast just now was something that was based on hard facts, and not something that was just believed to be the case. Without any actual proof to back it up. But Slayer already knew that Beast wouldn't make such a mistake. And it was this reason, Slayer now realized that made the Kamaira giving birth to this pup urgent enough to bring to his attention.

For such a relationship was unheard of. "The baby Kamaira is half Night Creature?" Slayer voiced out loud, mostly to himself rather than it being a question.

It wasn't something that was unknown for the Night Creatures to come and go in the lands, they did in fact roam everywhere in the night hours but never had a Night Creature and a Kamaira been known to interacted with each other. Both were Creatures who stayed to their own kind and would attack without warning if they would ever cross paths with any other demon creatures. Not to mention Slayer had never sensed the presence of the night creature in his territory. So Slayer couldn't hide his anger of hearing this and wanted Beast to hurry and fill him in on the details of the Kamaira and the Night Creatures involvement in the newborn that Beast was now holding, wrapped in a blanket.

"I had gone to check on the young female because it was known that she would be giving birth for the first time soon and a baby being born, as you know Sir, is celebrated and honored in the Kamaira clans. For our females don't give birth very often and it's difficult for our females to become pregnant, so we all take care of the expecting mother and watch over her. And do anything to ensure that the female gives birth to a healthy pup.

This young Kamaira was especially doted on by everyone because it was no secret that the young mother was without a mate and was alone. Our kind don't shun our females if this happens because the baby is what matters to us. Regardless of why the female chooses to stay unmated.

So I went to see if she needed anything, how she was feeling lately. I had been Noticing that she had been staying in more and more and wasn't being seen in the village like she normally was. She was hardly leaving her house and refusing for others to come around and check on her..

When I first arrived she seemed fine and nothing seemed to be off with her but it wasn't long after I arrived in her house, that I noticed how her behavior towards me change and how it was noticeable how my presence was making her become uncomfortable and anxious. She started trying to rush me out, becoming impatient, agitated and almost scared that I had come to visit her inside her home. I decided to brush it off as just something a first time expecting mother went through when they were getting closer to their delivery date and so I didn't read too much into her odd behavior and her insistence on me leaving her home. I was on my way out the door when I sent another unknown presence approaching and that held a strong and powerful aura.

When I turned to looked at the young Kamaira to let her know to stay quiet, and get inside and get some place safe while I find out what was approaching; that's when I noticed how she was it obvious panic and distraught about the situation that was unfolding. Not at the unknown presence fast approaching but because of the fact that I was still at her house, when I shouldn't have been." Beast said with clear irritation as he was retelling what had occurred that morning. Disgust and betrayal evident in his voice as he spoke and his eyes were murderous as he recalled what had transpired.

Beast then continued," She then tried to suddenly call out to whoever it was that was approaching. She was well aware of who it was after all. I wasn't expecting this from her, she tried calling out to warn whoever it was to not enter the house and to hurry and leave, but she was too late as the front door opened at that very moment in the night creature stepped inside. It didn't understand what it was that the Camaro had tried calling out to warn it, catching it completely off guard and confused at what was going on. never expecting anyone other than her to be inside her home, so I took advantage of the confused situation I was able to strike quickly, a lethal blow to the creature. It was over without there being any confrontation. And it was this that caused the young Kamaira to go into premature labor. The distress it had brought on her of seeing the Night Creature killed right in front of her, was more sorrow than she could handle. She died during the delivery without saying a single word". Beast finished telling Slayer of what had happened and how both the parents of the abominational pup he was now holding died.

After a brief time of silence that fell between them Slayer broke the silence by asking, "what did you do with the bodies?" Slayer asked his voice, void of any emotion as he stared at Beast standing there before him.

"I was able to hide the bodies where no one will come across them and will take them and burn them tonight away from the village. I will inform everyone as soon as I get back how the young Kamaira died going into premature delivery. Killing her and the baby. A believable story that wouldn't make anyone suspicious to move on with everyday life." Beast snarled, with finality to it.

"Hmmm...," was all Slayer said in response. He had to agree that everything Beast did with hiding the bodies for now, burning them later that night, and what to tell anyone who asked was all well thought of. Which was no surprising that it was Beast who was the one taking care of the mess. Something that Slayer couldn't have been more grateful of it being beast who had been the one there when the Night Creature had arrived.

After a time we're both seem to be lost in his own thoughts it was Beast who decided to break the silence and he said, "Sire, I'm sure you agree with how I've handled everything this far?" Beast said more as a statement, rather than a question. And what he really was wanting to know is if Slayer agreed with his idea and reasoning to kill this orphan pup, that he was still standing there holding.
