Chapter 20 - Author's Notes (Volume 1)

Hello everyone, how are you? I'm the author of this story, just call me Siegburn ( ・ω・)ノ.

I'm going to tell you a little about my work [World Ixion/SAGA].

It all started when I finished reading volume 2 of a web novel called "The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs," and I liked it so much that it inspired me to write my own story (just in case, I'm not trying to plagiarize or make a weird fanfic). So I spent a year developing the story in my free time before this virus hit us ι(`ロ´)ノ. It was undoubtedly very sad and bad for everyone, and to those who lost someone important, my condolences (ノ´д`).

This story is not complete (on paper) only in my head it is. As you have read, the story is about a young man who dies and reincarnates in a fantasy world... I know what you're thinking, "another generic isekai from the pile ( ̄ε ̄)." Well, let me tell you something, young one, if you put your heart into it, any story is good (ノ`Д´)ノ. And in this case, I made it isekai thanks to Lord Basuma who talks about how cliché and generic his life is; that's what I try to do and hope to achieve.

I'll continue with the story. Originally, the story was similar but had a different plot.

The Protagonist (Rudel) died and reincarnated in a world called Ixion where they used magic to move giant golems. His world was also a game, and coincidentally, he was the worst obstacle (a stalker) for the true protagonist to save the world, ending up dead (Rudel) in the process and becoming a lich. Upon remembering that, Rudel would try to avoid that outcome and not die in the attempt.

That was what the story was about, but the ideas I had for the arcs didn't fit with what I thought, and I had to reorganize ideas several times, and that was annoying ヾ(`ε´)ノ.

In the end, I gave up until one day a friend sent me a link to a manga that inspired me to continue my story and give it a total reboot. It was called "Akuma Bengoshi Kukabara"; it's about a demon who wants to be a lawyer and defend the innocent. The people who go to hell don't believe him, but he's their only hope of entering heaven.

That's how the story you can read was born.

Now about the name.

The "World" refers to the world our dear fake protagonist will come to know.

The "Ixion" refers to the machine that accompanies our protagonist throughout his life and will take important action at the end. As a fun fact, the origin of its name is based on a cat named Nix (that died on my grandmother) and a musical group called Man With A Mission, but that would be shameless, so I changed it.

And finally, the "SAGA" refers to the meaning of literary works due to the expansion of events and development.

A friend told me there's an anime with a similar name, and I responded, "Is it real, son ( •᷄ὤ•᷅)?" when I saw it. But I told him it wasn't theft or anything since I had never known about them before he mentioned it.

**The Characters**

Let's talk a bit about the characters, starting with our fake protagonist.

**Rudel**

What can we say about him? He is exactly as I describe and acts: someone who had a terrible life and a terrible, cruel death, only to wake up in a fantasy world where they use magic, but they aren't called mages, and where they use mechs of various types. Quite the evolution between feudalism, modernism, and futurism XD. His personality was initially submissive, but then he had a super total change, from someone who was like "good morning ma'am, God bless you" to "what the hell is wrong with you, get out of my way!" This is because he was holding it back inside, like the classroom otaku who gets a Coke spilled on him and laughs, but inside he's killing you.

But don't think he's a bad boy; it's just that this is his true character that was unleashed after becoming disgustingly rich.

When I was developing the story, I told it to a friend, and he said (what many maybe think) "if Rudel is the villain, why doesn't he know? He could indirectly, unintentionally, or maybe by mistake do something that leads to his or others' end. Wouldn't it be better to make him aware of his surroundings?"

I certainly thought about that for like 2 months of quarantine and came to the conclusion of I WON'T TELL YOU BECAUSE IT WOULD BE A SPOILER(´υ`).

I thought about the reason, and A LOT, but I won't say it here, only at the end of the story where several things that weren't explained will be revealed.

His relationship with his friends is nothing more than "friendship," and the reason I mention a triangle is because I'm a big fan of Zelda. And I see the relationship of those three as the sides of the Triforce. That will become very important in the future; remember it.

The names of the characters, at least some that will be specified throughout the story, will be talked about regarding their meaning and the reason for their name.

To finish with Rudel, his appearance is described several times, but just in case, his appearance would be a mix between these two guys.

**Ixion**

Maybe by saying I was inspired by Otome Mobu to write, does it mean I'm plagiarizing the potentially genocidal pokeball that helps the protagonist? That's a NO, NO. In fact, Ixion's appearance is based on the pods from Nier: Automata, and the reason it's spherical is because it's a pokeball. I can only tell you two things: its role is like the fairy that accompanies you in Ocarina of Time, and it's secretly an Itachi which is still in process. That's why it said things like sabotaging Rudel to free itself from the contract, but that's where the real question lies, "Which contract?" More about this will also be revealed later.

**Irisdina**

She was originally the co-protagonist of the game. Her story and origin were very sad according to the developers; that was the reason to meet the protagonist and thus get her happy ending. That was her lore... but once again, the bug called Rudel strikes again. He prevented the encounter between her and the protagonist. Maybe players seeing that would get angry, but the reality is that Irisdina is happier than ever and now even more so thanks to her 2 friends.

The reason I made her a "good girl" is based on the female characters from the Tales of series; there's always a friendly girl like that, but she's emptier than a bottomless hole. That's why I decided to include one and give her more development and unfolding... which hasn't been seen much because she's attached to Rudel. Her name originates as mentioned in her chapter. That said, the word 'dina' doesn't exist alone; it's part of a Polish sentence which combines very well with her name. And the way to pronounce it is from English, but many would have been left wondering once again, "Why Airi?" And the answer is because it sounds better ヾ(。^ω^。)ノ.

**Alicelotte**

It's the same case as Rudel, a villainess, but of the turn. She is exactly as Erselica describes in the game. But once again, thanks to the Rudel bug, he caused something big. Her personality never managed to become that of the horrible woman Erselica talks about.

In fact, she's really just a big child acting like an adult. I could try to explain her personality and other details, but I'll leave it for volumes 2 and 3 where more things about the ex-villainess will be discussed.

**Liam**

He's supposed to be the protagonist of the story that takes place in that world, but due to a bug called Rudel, he couldn't stand out or develop properly. He's supposed to be the classic self-insert, which is why his personality is very childish to the point he can believe anyone he likes. I can't say anything more since that's all that has been revealed about him.

**Chlust**

He's your typical stupid, muscular character. He's one of the prince's closest friends. Like the prince, his development consisted of Rudel and his misdeeds, but it never happened. I don't need to say it again, or do I? I won't be able to reveal anything about him that hasn't been seen.

**Frey**

Another classic one. This is the typical handsome character who has an air of grandeur. Don't let his cute face fool you; he's a wolf in sheep's clothing XD.

**Erselica**

I think you might have asked this question when she appeared: "Who the hell is she and how does she know Rudel is a villain?" A friend told me in a worse way XD. It seems she is someone irrelevant to the plot as shown, but I'll just say that starting from volume 2, her presence in the story increases. That said, I can spoil. She will become a key issue for the future.

**Black Thing?**

What can we say about this mysterious thing? Again, I can't say. Someone or something will take care of explaining this. The only thing I can say is that it is truly something no one wants to encounter. From what has been seen so far is what I can tell. Indeed, it was born on the same day Rudel was born and seems to feed on something. What could it be?

If I had to give it a human form, it would be something similar to this here but more grotesque and creepy. This thing only thinks about Rudel. Who knows why XD.

**Final Notes**

To finish now, I want to thank you for supporting me by reading this. I write it as a hobby. But who knows, maybe one day it will reach the big screen XD. Hope is the last thing to die.

Things that Volume 2 will bring:

—Problems everywhere for Rudel and the girls.

—New characters, allies or enemies?

—New obstacles in Rudel's peaceful life on his path of not acting like a villain even though his face says otherwise.

—More talk about the dukes and why Alicelotte was a villainess and the consequences it brought.

—The friendship triangle will go through a key moment in their man-woman relationship!

—The main characters go through a crisis due to lack of development... and the fault is Rudel's??

—And finally, remember these two names that will bring problems for Rudel in the long run: Erselica and a mysterious guy named "Bandel."

That's all. I say goodbye here, and we'll see each other when I finish and upload volume 2 of World Ixion/SAGA \(^▽^)/.
