The moment the light flared, Su Ye heard piercing screams erupt from all directions.
She reached out and tugged on the Golden Crow's petals, telling it to tone it down.
WHOOSH! The Golden Crow's light instantly went out.
When the Golden Crow went dark, the piercing screams vanished with it. All she could sense was the rustling and trembling of the surrounding woods.
She closed her eyes, concentrating for a moment.
There were no suspicious presences.
Then, she opened her eyes. Looking down, she stroked the Golden Crow's petals and began to walk forward as she spoke.
"You only lit up a little, and it was just yellow. No other colors."
The Golden Crow corrected her in its high, squeaky voice,
"This is orange."
It then added happily,
"The sun is this color, too."
Su Ye was curious.
"You couldn't make orange before?"
'Didn't I remember this flower showing me the whole rainbow already?'
The Golden Crow's large petals swayed from side to side.
"Nope."
