The sub-core caverns were collapsing. Driven by the catastrophic orbital bombardment of the Duplict Deship above, tectonic shockwaves ripped through the bedrock, sending multi-ton stalactites crashing into the liquid energy lakes below.
Through the rising smoke, the quantum energy core shell shattered completely.
A blinding, supernova-like flash of silver light erupted from the epicenter. Out of the remnants of the shell floated the Zeniork offspring. Born a full year premature, it did not possess the towering, majestic form of its ascended ancestors. Instead, it was a volatile, shifting entity—a concentrated cloud of glowing, transparent stardust roughly three meters in diameter, crackling with unstable quantum arcs.
"Too weak… body unformed…" the child's thoughts chaoticly swirled.
Though its physical manifestation was fragile, its mind was fully unlocked. The inherited memories of a million ancestral gods pulsed through its consciousness. It knew it needed to reach the surface, but its premature awakening left its gravity-manipulation arrays severely glitched.
Every hover forward caused its raw energy to spark and bleed into the cave walls.
Forcing its cloudy form to compress, the young Zeniork surged upward through a newly opened volcanic fissure, riding a thermal draft of pure kinetic pressure toward the surface.
On the surface continent of Oros, paradise was melting.
The sky, once a brilliant color palette of Paxlight, was entirely choked by the massive, black hull of the planet-sized Deship. Orbital plasma lances rained down, vaporizing the hyper-dense forests. The magnificent trees, which once stood as proud silhouettes against the horizon, were now raging pillars of fire.
Standing amidst the inferno was Iron-Guard Boros, a Nedom warrior.
Boros was a colossus of 110 meters, his bipedal, faceless form draped in a scorched mantle of heavy, ceremonial silk. His tree-branch limbs, intricately forged from a natural matrix of platinum and diamond, were stained with black ash. He had just witnessed his squad obliterated by a Duplict vanguard drop-ship. His heavy regenerative abilities were working overtime, sealing a massive fissure in his diamond-plated torso, but his systems were failing.
"The defense grid was betrayed," Boros broadcasted on a dying telepathic frequency, receiving nothing but static in return. "The Enigmas have left us to burn."
Suddenly, the ground beneath the titan's metallic feet buckled. A fissure exploded upward, but instead of magma, a blinding orb of silver, transparent stardust shot into the smoky air.
Boros raised his massive, branch-like arm, his diamond-tipped fingers tracking the spatial anomaly. His advanced scanning arrays whirred in disbelief. A Zeniork frequency? But the Gods ascended millennia ago!
Before the giant could process the data, three Duplict raider skiffs roared through the burning canopy. The brainwashed, muscular raiders instantly locked their heavy anti-matter cannons onto the floating cloud of stardust, sensing its immense value to their master, the Undead King Zoran.
"Target the anomalous energy mass!" a Duplict commander roared over his comms. "Capture it alive for the King!"
The young Zeniork, disoriented by the sensory overload of the surface world, flickered violently. It tried to manifest a galaxy-obliterating thought-shield, an ability embedded in its ancestral memory, but its premature body could only muster a pathetic, crackling barrier of static electricity.
The anti-matter beams locked on.
Thoom!
The ground shook as a massive, 110-meter wall of diamond and platinum threw itself in front of the premature godling.
Iron-Guard Boros took the full brunt of the anti-matter blast. The explosion shattered the outer platinum plating of his torso, sending shards of burning metal raining into the ash. Yet, driven by hundreds of millions of years of evolutionary duty to protect Torol, the faceless titan didn't step back.
Using his remaining arm, Boros slammed a localized gravity-anchor into the soil, creating a kinetic shockwave that swatted the three Duplict skiffs out of the sky like insects. They crashed into the burning silhouette of the forest, exploding in balls of orange fire.
The giant groaned, his metallic-plant body smoking as his regenerative cells fought to repair the catastrophic damage. He turned his massive, faceless torso toward the small, floating cloud of stardust.
"Little star…" Boros's telepathic voice echoed directly into the Zeniork child's mind, heavy with exhaustion but fiercely protective. "You are unhatched. You are incomplete. But you are the blood of the creators. As long as my platinum core beats, the raiders will not touch you."
Inside the shifting cloud of stardust, the Zeniork child felt a profound surge of ancestral recognition. This giant was a Nedom—the ultimate Guardian. It was weak, and the giant was wounded, but together, they were the first true spark of resistance against the Arch-Genocide.
