The Divinity scoffed.
"Do what you think you can."
Nothing happened for the first few seconds. And then, there came a very subtle buzz from within Alex, one that could have been missed by even the Divinity, if not for the smoke that emerged from him as well.
The smoke was thin at first, but it quickly grew thick as it escaped through the clothes around his chest. Then, even his clothes burned away, drifting into embers and leaving behind charred flesh on his chest that struggled to spread outward.
Before the Divinity could react, a blast of heat struck him, immediately stripping away the Qi around his body. In a panic, he covered himself in Qi to protect himself. He was protected, but that did not stop him from recognizing what he was feeling.
This was the power one felt when they were outside of the atmosphere that protected them.
This was the power of the sun itself.
From inside of himself, Alex was burning like the sun.
