"We're going to the City Lord's office to address yesterday's incident," he explained instead. "What happened caused quite a disturbance in public."
Ryan frowned. "Didn't Scarlette already submit her report to the guild?"
As a noble by birth, his confusion was understandable. Disguised as a commoner now, much of the city's procedural rigidity escaped him.
"For formality, I guess?"
Scarlette answered without slowing her pace.
Both men nearly stumbled.
She continued walking, apparently oblivious.
Ryan hurried to catch up, disbelief written all over his face. "Formality? Wait—you mean apologizing?"
"Hm."
Her ambiguous sound deepened his frustration.
"Hm?" Ryan echoed incredulously. "We're actually going to apologize?"
Asterion intervened before the situation escalated further. "Not we, Ryan. You. You're the one who needs to apologize."
Ryan's eyes widened. "What? That's absurd! That guy was the one who started it!"
