Gu Linxi hadn't left the construction site to see the world outside for a long time. After leaving, she first went back to the hotel for a good shower, changed into clean clothes, sat cross-legged on the sofa with an ice cream in her mouth, and opened her laptop to check the stock market trends.
Who would have thought that shortly after she began to relax, an annoying phone call came in.
She glanced at the caller ID, an unfamiliar number, and tossed the phone aside without answering it.
The caller, however, was persistent, as the phone kept ringing non-stop as if it wouldn't end until she picked up. She was fed up and slowly picked up the phone, and answered.
"Hello?" Her casual tone of speech was like a plum soaked in ice water in August, refreshingly sweet, leaving a lingering taste.
"Linxi? Are you Gu Linxi?" The excited voice on the other end of the phone sounded somewhat familiar to Gu Linxi.
"Who are you?"
