Rasa's head whipped back towards him so fast, that if he were not an S-rank shinobi, Hiruzen would have feared for the state of his neck, "The next Hokage?!" Rasa actually spluttered, taken completely by surprise, "A boy that young? And you really believe he could defeat someone as powerful and resourceful as Orochimaru? Someone, who if I'm not mistaken was previously a contender for the position of Hokage himself?"

Heh. Rasa was not the only one who seemed angry, his two cloaked bodyguards were practically seething with rage at his words. Such jealousy in the sand these days.

Hiruzen held back the urge to chuckle at his shock, yes it was quite the impressive wasn't it? "Trust me Kazekage-dono, Daiki-kun is far more powerful than you can imagine," he assured, and saw a flash of something in his eyes, envy? And anger. Yes, he could understand that, after all, there was no doubt Daiki-kun was stronger than Rasa as well. Being jealous and angry that the Leaf had one of such potential must have stung, "If it came down to a fight, he would even defeat me."

Maybe it would be different in his prime. But, with his full strength, combined with his status as perfect jinchuuriki, Hiruzen knew, he would lose if they fought to the death.

"Is that so…." Rasa hissed, jerking his head back around to stare down at Daiki with narrowed as as Genma declared him fully the winner, and the next match, Sasuke Uchiha versus Gaara of the Sand would take place in ten minutes.

'Such anger and envy in him. He should be careful, too much of that is bad for the heart.' Hiruzen mused.

There was a massive out cry as Daiki's match came to an end. Leaning against the wall out of the way in the spectator box while awaiting his own match, Sasuke grimaced at the sheer loudness of it all.

'So annoying.' he internally huffed, could a man have some time to brood-

Time to think to himself? Of course not, Obviously Daiki had to make a massive spectacle of his match and basically pick a fight with the Hyuuga clan…and he wasn't even going to go into the crap he was spouting about Kumo.

He hadn't thought Daiki was xenophobic before, but, honestly, he didn't care. Who cared if he was biased against their enemies and had no care for them as people?

He had much more important things to be dwelling on right now. Like…the fact that Naruto was the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki! 'And my brother is going to hunt him down, rip it from his body and kill him.' he thought, guilt swelling in his chest.

Naruto's life was in danger because of that man.

'No.' Sasuke grit his teeth, never again. He would not allow Itachi to kill Naruto. No, when the time came, that Itachi came for Naruto, he be there to meet him instead and kill him!

"Daiki-kun….you…." a soft voice drew him to the Hyuuga girl, Hinata or as he preferred to call her because he knew it annoyed Daiki, Hibaba.

She was looking down at Daiki as he began making his way towards the exit of the arena, while Neji Hyuuga was carried off on a stretcher, with a blinding smile, and tears in the corner of her eyes. Weirdo, 'Loser, you couldn't even force him to show off anything useful.' Sasuke huffed internally as he eyed the defeated Hyuuga being carted off. All he'd picked up was Daiki was absurdly faster than before, far faster than him now, had apparently learned how to hit pressure points and had upgraded his force palm to a much more powerful, double layered version.

His stomach cramped up in pain just thinking of getting hit by that jutsu. Even when it was far weaker and far smaller, when he'd just created it, it had dealt so much damage to him.

'If it weren't for my sharingan I wouldn't have even been able to see him move.' Sasuke thought. It was a good thing he'd put a lot more focus on conditioning his body ever since he started training with and sparring with Daiki, and ramped it up over the last month with Kakashi.

He'd bulked up noticeably, and it would be needed. What good was staying fully lean and limber, when Daiki was just as fast, if not faster, while being a juggernaut of muscle?

Speaking of Daiki.

As his annoying friend made his way into the tunnel below them, Sasuke pushed off the wall and made his way out of the viewer box, heading down to meet him halfway in the tunnels of the massive colosseum structure.

Daiki had wanted to speak with him after all. 'He's picked up more information about Itachi.' he thought, mind churning with the stress and anger of it all.

He met him halfway down the stairs, in the middle of the landing, "So, how was my fight?" Daiki grinned his way, "No need to hold back, tell me how amazing I am."

"Amazingly stupid," Sasuke fired back, unable to help himself, and despite himself, felt his lips quirk up into a smirk, "What kind of idiot brags like that? Talking all that crap to the Hyuuga clan and going on about being Hokage. I didn't know you changed your name to Naruto over the past month when I wasn't looking. You gonna start wearing orange and shouting about how amazing ramen is?"

He cocked his head and his smirk widened, "You share the same taste in girls already considering his crush on Sakura, I suppose it isn't that far off."

"Jokes on you, Sakura is hot as hell," Daiki smirked, making Sasuke scoff, "Besides, I wasn't lying at all. I've been chosen as the next Hokage."

Sasuke stared at him. And stared. He looked over his right shoulder, then his next. Then down at his feet, and up at the ceiling.

And then stared back at Daiki.

A thirty second long silence elapsed.
