Days of following different cultural similarities and how they worked to develop specific aspects of what each race did in their daily life made Walker never wish to pick up a book about culture again. He even believed that he had dissected so much of each race's culture for the one class being developed that he could teach it almost flawlessly. This wasn't to say he could call himself an expert.
Some races like the demons had small intricacies to their culture in terms of finding someone to spend their life with.
They would test a partner for their strength. Not by fighting but by seeing how they could hide and provide for a family member. Therefore they would have the partner feign illness to see how the other would respond. Would they gather enough food and herbs to protect the other? Could they hide that ill person from threats?
