When Usnafso arrived at the Han Camp, Ganasis's envoy had already reached the Parthian camp and met with many of Parthia's military officers, though he had not seen Vologases V.
However, it was clear that both Parthia and the Romans were merely going through the motions. Right now, even if Parthia withdraws, the Romans will still fight; likewise, if Parthia can defeat Rome, they wouldn't care about the Roman envoy at all.
The most awkward thing between the Han Army and Usnafso was the language barrier. Although the Han Army had a translator, the translator wouldn't be at the camp entrance; as for the Roman translator of the Han language, it was evident he was an amateur, after all, the two sides had never really clashed before.
Fortunately, Usnafso's translator could at least say he was an envoy, thus although surrounded by the Han Army, he escaped death. Otherwise, following the previous pace of the Han Army, he would most likely have been killed outright for spying on the camp.
