Chapter 13 - Aaron Kin

We finished our job at school and decided to leave, but we were going to meet at my house afterwards.

I'll tell you, it almost felt like I had bought this house for them.

As I reached there, I found the door open. I thought Calyx was inside. He always comes by during that time to prepare food and other things for me.

I walked inside and then went across the drawing room. I saw Mark sitting over the couch.

"Hey!" I greeted him.

As I walked towards the stairs, I noticed another person sitting in front of Mark.

"Hello!" he said.

"Mr. Kin?" I said upon close observation.

There was a tall man with black suit and coat on the corner of my couch. He had one of his legs or the other and sat there as some noble person.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"I wanted to see Mark's house. So, here I am," he exclaimed with a faint smile.

"What do you mean 'Mark's house'?" I asked him.

"Oh! Is this not his house?" he questioned.

"Why would this be…." as I was saying I was pulled by Mark inside the kitchen.

I was muddled and so I asked him, "What the hell is going on?"

"Ah— he wanted to see my house and I don't live alone anymore. So.."

"You brought him here. How clever of you." I completed his statement, "Well what are we going to do now? They are coming over today."

"Who?" he asked.

"The Kardashians," I answered sarcastically, "Who do you think will come?"

"Oh—You mean them?"

For the first time in his entire life he was able to understand my sarcasm. I guess he really got intelligent. A little bit, but yes.

"Mark?" Mr. Kin called him out.

"Yes?" he said.

"What are you guys doing?" he asked, "And who is that?"

"Ah—he is my butler." Mark answered.

"What?" I reacted with a face which can't be described.

Mark ignored me and said, "I was telling him his work. He has a condition of forgetting things."

My mind, my face and my voice everything was so distorted that I wasn't able to process what he was blurting.

A condition? I am going to kill him.

"Great! Now I forget things?" I said it out loud.

Mr. Kin had a confused look, "Huh? What did you say?" he asked to reconfirm.

"See, he forgot. He usually forgets his forgetting condition." Mark answered, "Go make us something." he ordered.

I went inside the kitchen unwillingly, but I had no choice. I had to act as his butler, that to a forgetting butler. For one minute, I thought he was becoming smart but on the next second he is more dumber than he was.

After almost fifteen minutes, Jason and everyone entered the house.

Carol was shocked to see her father there. She had no idea that he was going to be there. She forced to sit beside Mark.

They started having their chats. The atmosphere was too uncomfortable for Carol and everyone but they still sat there for five minutes. Then, Jason entered the kitchen with a startled face.

"Is Calyx dead?" he asked me beforehand, "Mark said you're cooking,"

"What? I am cooking because that idiot told her father that I am his butler who forgets things." I answered him ferociously.

"Okay!" he stepped back for a moment and then asked me, "Need help?"

"Yeah," I answered, "Chop these," I said as I handed him onions, "Well, where's Amy?" I asked him.

"Oh, they went upstairs—to your room," he replied.

"To—My—Room?" I stuttered, "Why would you ask them to go to my room?"

"I don't know they wanted something from your room," he answered without hesitation, "Besides you don't anything weird in there, do you?"

"Like?" I questioned.

"Anything lewd?" he rephrased.

"Nooooo" I replied as stood in front of the stove with a ladle stirring.

He continued chopping and after a few seconds asked me again, "You have right?"

"Yes," I answered with a crying face, "But it belongs to Mark, not me" I said to make it clear.

"That's a nice reason, you should use it. They won't suspect." he said.

"It is, right." I said with a smile and quickly realized something, "Wait—I'm being serious,"

I was serious partially. Because the other day Mark left a magazine in my room and then I forgot to return it mostly because I read it. Now, by magazine you must know what I mean.

But it would have been okay if Staci was the only one, but if they are both together. Amy will probably notice the magazine and then open it. She'll definitely think that I am a creep.

"Well, whatever." Jason sighed , "I'm done. So, what are we making?" he asked.

"I don't know," I replied, "Do you know how to cook?"

"Huh? You don't know how to cook?" he reconfirmed.

"Nope,"

"Then, why was I chopping onions?"

"Its something you do kitchen, right?"

"What are doing with the ladle, then?" he asked furiously.

"I don't know its just water." I answered.

"So, you've been boiling water for the last ten minutes?" he asked me.

"Yes," I answered with a straight face.

He walked up to me and then took over the gas.

"I'll do something. You help me," he said.

"Yep, sure." I replied.

Jason started working, he took some carrots and other veggies and started cutting them . I never knew that he had such skills. Guess, he really is an ideal groom.

"Take the soup-instant," he said as he pointed his fingers to one of the selves behind him, "Mix it with the water,"

I quickly opened the shelves and took the instant mix, tore it and poured it down in the water.

As I completed my work, Jason finished his.

He put some plates down on the granite table and started serving rice in them. Just like a chef, he dropped the rice on one side of a plate and then with some salad on the other. He then took bowls with spoons and then poured the soup in them.

I arranged the dishes on a tray and then went out, towards the dining table to serve them.

Amy and Staci came down and joined Carol on the table. With Mark and Mr. Kin on one side and Carol, Amy and Staci on the other.

"You join too," Mr. Kin asked Jason to join them as he thought he was a friend of Mark's and I wasn't.

Thank you, Mark.

Jason sat on one of the empty chairs and then started eating with them.

"So, have you guys done it?" Mr. Kin asked Mark.

Everyone raised their heads up and started staring at Mark who dropped the spoon as soon as he heard Mr. Kin.

Mark turned a confused face towards him, "Done, what?" he asked.

"Kiss?" Mr. Kin answered.

"No—" he said in an instant as he saw Carol's face, she had rage in her eyes.

"No?" Mr. Kin reacted with an unsatisfied look, "You have not done it? Then how are you calling yourselves, dating?"

Now, I expect old people to be somewhat dumb, but not this much.

Is it really necessary for two people to kiss for them to call themselves dating?

What kind of world does Mr. Kin lives in?

I bet he has half of the staff is women because from where I was standing he looked like a romantic freak with weird fantasies and I am not just telling it because I feel like it, but because he was making weird face while explaining why kissing is important.

"Uh—I meant.." Mark interrupted him as he was explaining.

"You said 'no'. I am disappointed." Mr. Kin said as he didn't let Mark to complete, "And I don't like being disappointed," he said with a terrifying face which resembled Carol's when she is super angry.

"I—I mean…." Mark stuttered as he saw that face.

But Mr. Kin won't let him finish, "You said 'no', right?" he said as he turned his face towards me as he thought I would support him, but what I was supposed to do.

I mean I want to take revenge on Mark, for what he did but also this is not the right time.

But even if I make up my mind for helping Mark. How am I suppose to do that?

I turned my head sideways towards the girl. Carol was clueless, Staci had a fork in her mouth and was terrified.

So, I looked at Amy. I was sure she would help me, but she was looking at me as I was a disgusting piece of garbage.

So, I figured that she must have seen the magazine.

Damn it, I didn't want her to see that.

"You support me, right? He said 'no'?" Mr. Kin asked me.

I was sweating, shivering and seriously concerned of how tings may turn from here.

"What are asking me for?" I said in a flash with a panicked face, "I forget things," I answered as I pumped my lungs with air.

"You remember that?" he said with a dazzled face, "He forgets-- he can't remember anything, right?" he asked Mark to make things right, "What?" I said to give an opportunity to Mark.

"See he forgot," Mark exclaimed as he drove Mr. Kin's attention to him.

"He meant no—not today," said Carol as she rose from the chair and walked towards her father, "Besides aren't you getting late? You must have a meeting, right?"

"Oh—right," he said as he watched the clock, "I had one,"

He then finished his meal and walked out of the door with Carol and Mark following him, like a couple Carol held Mark's hand to make it look less suspicious for her father.

But the weird thing here was that in her right mind, she would never do that.

Then why would she do it now?

Mark was as surprised as we were well probably more than us. No one ever has even tried holding his hand. Well, you know they say, there's a first time for everything.

We all stood by the window pane and watched them three walking out towards the road.

Mr. Kin checked his pockets and then said, "Oh shoot— I forgot my phone inside,"

"I'll get it for you," Carol said as she ran inside the house.

Mark watched her run and then Mr. Kin walked towards him, "Adorable, she is?" he asked Mark.

"Yeah, never thought about it because is always so accustomed on hitting me with whatever she gets," Mark answered with a faint smile of affection.

"I knew she would have hit you—once or twice,"

"More than that, sir."

Then they both laughed, "Take good care of my daughter," Mr. Kin said as he patted Mark's shoulder, "I heard what's going in the school—she may be hard outside, but actually she is the one who gets sad for small things,"

"Sure," Mark said with a determined face, "You can count on me and maybe I'll actually fall for her," he said as he chuckled.

That was a weird thing to say. It was in fact revealing that they both weren't dating but Mr. Kin didn't react to that and just went on laughing.

I leaned over and then found out that Carol was hiding behind one of the walls. She was definitely eavesdropping. I saw her face and was sure that it looked like she was blushing and her heart was definitely racing as she had her hands covering her chest and she was breathing heavily.

"She heard it? Great, I wonder how she is going to react," I whispered to myself.

Everything was fuzzy, but one thing was sure—something's going to happen.

[Phone rings]

"Hello? This is Aaron," said Aaron Kim over the call.

"Hey! How you doin'?" Bruce replied with faint chuckle.

"Fine," answered Aaron, "I was with Kyle,"

"How's my boy?"

"You were right. I reached the house before and then asked my guards to sweeps the house—He isn't regular about the medications,"

"Tsk—Aaron, I told him like a hundred times. He just won't listen to me,"

"You know the side effects well," said Aaron, "I think—maybe you should tell his friends about that,"

"I tried and I am still trying but Kyle refuses to let them know," said Bruce with a disturbed and rather concerned tone, "Anyway, I'll look after him—What about Mark?"

"Ah! He's a nice fellow," replied Aaron, "Although it was clear that they were faking it,"

"When are you going to stop acting like a fool. Go on, tell them."

"So long as I meet my daughter everyday…...I don't really care,"

"You idiot—why don't you take a break and ask her to go on a vacation with you?"

"You know well, she'll decline and Martha won't allow it." replied Aaron with a slight chuckle, "Anyway—lets meet up,"

"Yeah, sure." answered Bruce.
