Third-person POV
Meanwhile, in the detention facility in Tokyo, the detained Triad Power agents are sitting in their cells awaiting interrogation. They were still in their tactical clothes but without their bulletproof vests, equipment, and weapons. They did receive daily showers, non-Japanese prison food, and water every day since being detained after the Hakaze Inn Incident. Their hackers who had broken into the 3 hubs in Chiyoda and tried (and failed shortly after) shutting Japan's grid were also in the other cells. Now today, seeing the live Tokyo summit through a TV provided by Japanese guards and MPC agents in the common room, they started to have different, divided views on the Hakaze conspiracy they were forced to sign up for by the MSS, SVR, and the CIA. The MSS agent Chen, who had been eating the MPC's Pancit Canton and Shakshuka every breakfast, said to the other Triad Power agents, "I wanted to get the hell out of here and return to China before Chinese New Year's Day came in. I basically did not sign up for this."
"I wanted to go home and rest up in Novosibirsk," the SVR agent Dmitry replied. "This is bullshit."
The CIA agent Roger nodded. "Yeah, this conspiracy thing is pure idiocy. Japan is a G7 nation, right?"
"Yeah," another CIA agent, Sam Lewisham, responded, "yet Washington treated it like a gateway to that portal to another world called the Special Region just for the resources. Fuck those elites who considered wealth an unquestionable privilege!"
"I don't think I could read Tom Clancy's action books again because I felt disgracing and smearing his literary style with this malicious scandal," Roger replied.
"Yeah, me too," Sam responded. "Have you read any of his works?"
"Yep, Sam. I had a whole ass collection of it at home, and because of this damned scandal, I would have to leave it to collect dust for a month or two."
Hearing that, Sam nodded and then leaned back on his seat. "I hated this. I am done. I wanted to resign from the CIA and move to Thessaloniki, Greece where my Japanese-Greek wife and our 3 children are. It's been 5 days since I had sent them off to that town in Greece when I heard of this conspiracy."
"Are you going to risk it all for that?" another SVR agent, Vlad, asked. "I mean, Washington will brand you as a traitor and even blacklist you from the system like an outcast."
"I don't give a shit about that," replied Sam. "The CIA was now becoming like these cheap-ass Hollywood movies where the CIA backstabs its own agents when things go south. I used to watch these as a kid in the suburbs of a city in North Dakota, and laughed at it, until I felt like the protagonist who gets backstabbed. Remember that night in the Hakaze Inn when I did not fight the MPC agents and let them zip-tie my hands behind my back?"
"Yes, you were hesitant, Sam," Roger responded. "I really deserved that stun gun hit on me when an NBI agent fired her stun gun at me."
"I see then," Chen responded. "I wanted to see my family again in Shanghai."
"Just confess to the MPC and the Japanese government about the details of the conspiracy," the CIA agent Ramirez responded, "and chances are, we can get out of here and after that, we can either reflect on our actions or burn our bridges and vanish from our intelligence agencies. Either way, we're not doing this kind of dirty work anymore."
A secret agreement was made among them.
Hearing that, the Greek EYP Captain Rhea Bakirtzis, the Spanish CNI captain Ruy Peréz, and the Indonesian BIN agent Rahman Lestari, went to them and updated on them that the MPC intelligence agencies had completely stopped playing all mixed music loops in their intelligence agencies and severed all connections and communications to Japan, thus alienating their envoys from their home countries. For the first time ever, the detained Triad Power agents agreed with that.
