When they landed on the mountain a little off from where Sam killed the alligator beast they heard an animal roar. Sam turned to his friends, are you all ready for this? Steve and Vera nodded while bones and Luke looked on, they might be strong but they have never fought a beast before. Luke followed the school rule of only doing that during the final year of school. while bones had never thought of fighting a beast. Vera you will be the first to fight, remember you have to use all i have taught you. The beast you are fighting might be at leak rank two but it is a rhino so has very strong defence. please do not underestimate it's attack power it can be devastating. your performance will determine if I will give you a movement technique. Bones when Vera engages the rhino you will go with me to fight the second rhino at the cave so it does not come and join the one Vera is fighting.then he turned to the owl, you will watch over Vera and make sure she is safe. After walking for ten miles they came across the rhino.
Vera drew her sword and went over to the rhino. she attacked swiftly and with her might but to her surprise her sword bounced off the rhinos body. Vera was shocked, soon the rhino breath fire out of its nostrils, Vera had to quickly dodge to the side before she could understand what was happening. she saw the rhino charging at her. she was immediately sent flying, I think I need that movement technique from Sam. she thought back to what Sam had told her she was better of making a shield than sword. Vera quickly condensed a round and thick ice shield with spikes. the shield floated in front of Vera. After that she took a healing pill. let get this done with quickly she condensed another shield like the first allowing it float beside thne first one. The rhino rushed at Vera determined to stump her to the ground. Vera quickly directed the shield to intercept the way of the beast the collusion was loud and this stoped the rhino on it's tracks. immediately Vera controlled the second shield to smash the rhino from the left while she attacked the rhino from the right. The beast could not see Vera because of the shield it collided with, vera slashed with her sword and retreated to the back of the rhino before the shield smashed into the left side of the rhino sending it flying. the rhino roared out of anger and pain and it's roar was answered from far away by another beast. it was slightly injured because of its thick and hard skin but some of it bones at the left side were cracked.
Sam told Vera to remember improving her sword technique while fighting with the beast then he asked bones to follow him they needed to intercept the other rhino, so the two of them set off. Sam and bones ran down the mountain and intercepted the second rhino by the river. Bones it is all yours, make sure to kill it with that Sam stood aside to let bones engage the rhino. bones being a good sword man went straight to attack, what he didn't anticipate was the high defence of the rhino. bones was sent flying, bones immediately formed exoskeleton to protect himself. A huge hole was formed where bones landed, bones quickly jumped out of the hole and took a stand. he formed sharp bones and made them protrude out of his exoskeleton. it acted as a deterrent to the rhino, the rhino itself wanting to pair up with its mate did not care for the deterrent. bones was blown away again, he had it much worse this time as he vomited blood. The rhino threw itself at bones which caused his present injury. Bones took some healing pills but the rhino decided not to give bones a breathing space. Sam had to intervene, he hit the rhino with the spear sending the rhino flying. Sam then spoke to bones, you have to learn to adapt to situations. You do not have to fight beasts thesame way you fight humans.
Sam took out a sword and attacked the rhino while bones watched on. Sam side stepped the rhino as they were about to collide. As he side stepped the rhino he went down on his kneels and slashed the inside legs of the rhino. causing the rhino to collapse Sam turned to bones, did you learn anything now. the rhino struggled to stand up. Sam went towards it again and slid under the beast slicing the underneath and making it's intestines fall out. bones this is to show you there are many ways to kill a rat. You must not confront every problem frontally. always learn the weak points of your problems and dismantle it. Now clean up the beast as you will be battling another beast. Sam formed claws on his hands a pulled out the beasts heart and its core and worked to the side to cultivate while bones cleaned out the corpse. Bones be fast so we can go and see how Vera is doing.
Vera herself was already used to fighting beast so didn't make the kind of mistake bones made she was not having it easy but so was the beast the beast was already blinded on one eye when it misjudged veras attack. both beast and human were at a standstill, vera was breathing heavily and her hawk was at alert to intervene should things be bad. The fight had helped Vera improve she found a way to make herself levitate by standing on a piece of she formed this kept her out of the reach of the rhino whenever she found herself in a pinch but also tasked her energy. While this was happening Sam came back with bones. bones look over there, have you learnt anything. bones watched Vera battled the beast. he nodded at Sam, yes, I think I picked up a few things. what have you learnt? I have learnt to utilize my advantages to the best of my ability. I also learnt not to always charge at problems head long as strength is not all that matters,I am stronger than Vera but she is handling the beast much more than I did. Good that is a good experience for you not just for beast but when you also fight your fellow humans.
Bones asked Sam but why did you not ask Luke to fight a beast why me and Vera. Sam laughed bones Vera is slow at learning weapon. I have to sacrifice my training time to help her keep up with you guys but she is faster at cultivation and use of her element than you guys so this fight is to force think of ways to use her area of strenght you can see her ice shield. she also was able to think of way to get faster with her ice by looking for way to skit with it now she floats on a piece of ice. You think traning alone would have made her think of this? bones shook his head. In your case you were too arrogant and thought strength was all you needed I needed you yo see something else. Luke on the other hand is good at adapting and knows when to retreat Steve is my childhood friend he might be very lazy but he is highly intelligent. If he was in your position he would have easily killed the beast so my only bother with him is motivating him to practice and cultivate.
