CHAPTER 233
The helicopter descended over the clearing.
The powerful rotors bent the treetops below, sending leaves and loose branches swirling through the air. Sunlight flickered between the blades overhead.
Around the clearing, one group of elves stood looking up. At the very front stood King Raindel.
His long white hair whipped behind him in the violent wind. The golden circlet resting upon his head remained perfectly in place despite the gale. Behind him stood several elder healers and warriors. Everyone raised an arm to shield their eyes from the dust.
Farther away, another small group observed from the edge of the forest.
The dwarves.
They had not approached any closer, choosing instead to quietly witness the exchange between kingdoms.
The helicopter finally touched the ground.
The rotors gradually slowed.
