"So he doesn't know anything really?" Ashleah scoffed when his majesty told them that the Marquess Barlowe was acting like nothing happened. "What a man really, I am going to make him pay-"
"Ashleah, please do calm down. WE are going to make him pay, okay?" The Emperor Adler said while he looked outside the carriage's window. There was a total of three carriages and knights were in front and behind them, Gab and Kian was taking both leads.
The first carriage, Prescott and Giulia was staying inside. The second carriage was where Princess Izel and Emperor Adler was staying. Last but not the least, the last carriage was where the high priest Rowen, Axis, and Nash was staying.
Marquess Barlowe's home was quite far away from the Imperial Palace. Ashleah knew for a fact that she would probably fall asleep while inside the carriage sos he quickly sat beside her Father.
"My, you want to take a nap before another fight with the Marquess Barlowe?" His Majesty said while he smiled when his daughter puts her heas on top of his shoulder.
Ashleah closed her eyes and nodded her head. "Mmm. What he did was really inhumane Father. I say, was this the first time you saw a dragon? You looked so calm when you saw Giulia."
A small chuckle escaped his lips as he also closed his eyes and leaned against the carriage's soft wall. "To be really honest, it was my first time seeing a dragon. But I've got to compose myself and face the problem."
Ashleah opened her eyes slowly and with an amazed smile plastered on her face she giggled with her eyes squinting. "Oh gosh, look at Father. So tough aren't you?"
"But I do think that God is kind of playing with us really." With that, Ashleah's head suddenly left her Father's shoulder and her widened eyes looked at his confused and questionable eyes. "Are you feeling okay Ashleah?"
"Father, how can you say that?" Her voice cracked. Ashleah facepalmed herself inside her mind.
"What do you mean say that? That God is playing with us?" He sighed and massaged his neck still closing his eyes. "I just feel it. Ashleah, please do refrain yourself from going outside the palace for now."
"Are you hiding something from me Father?" She quickly responded with a curved eyebrow and narrow eyes, her Father opened his eyes and avoided her gaze. "Father, I do guess that I have the right to know what's happening."
"You just need to keep safe Ashleah." He said as he finally gave up and looked directly at her eyes. "It's just about something the magicians, as an Emperor it's my job."
It felt like there was a switch button inside her mind and she really was interested with the topic about the magicians. Because it was their very mission, it was the main reason why they were here.
"What about the magicians Father? They seem nice." She tried her best to look innocent in front of her Father. It was literally tattoed inside her head that he shouldn't know anything about their plans.
"Ah, one thing you should know when you are trying to rule an empire as big as Genry. Do not trust anyone just because they look nice, looks can deceive you." He said without even batting an eye making Ashleah chuckle.
The princess was about to respond with her Father's so called speech but they both heard a knock from the window beside him. He slowly moved the curtains and was welcomed by Kian's smiling victory face. Emperor Adler chuckled as he slowly opened the window.
"Your Majesty, let's proceed with the plan shall we? Oh and... Welcome to the so called mansion of Marquess Cad Barlowe." Kian said and as if it was in the movie, they were both welcomed by a mansion not so great but it was beautiful indeed. And it was where Marquess was living.
"Oh my Father, please let's continue our conversation later. I am indeed anticipating what may happen with our plan for today." She grinned and quickly sat back to her original seat and giggled.
"You scare me sometimes Ashleah, just like your mother." He chuckled, as soon as their carriage stopped right in front of the gates, Ashleah saw how a man came running to them.
She guessed that it was the Marquess' butler. A small smile curved onto her lips. "You are quiet mischievous for an Emperor Father."
"And that's what makes me unique." He said and then they heard a knock from the window, the emperor opened it slowly as they heard someone panting and gasping for air.
"His Imperial Majesty, E-Emperor of Genry. Greetings!—" He was about to say something more when his eyes caught Ashleah who was smiling warmly at him. "—Her Imperial Highness, Princess of Genry. Greetings!" He said still panting.
"Thank you for your warm greetings. Are we disturbing the Marquess because of our sudden visit?" Ashleah said with an raised eyebrow. The man quickly shook his head with widened eyes.
"T-The Marquess is very delightened that hi-his majesty and her highness came to visit him but he is very busy for today—" Ashleah quickly made a fake crying sound as she wiped the fake tears away from her eyes.
"Oh no, I never knew that Marquess Barlowe would say no to us like this. Father, I am very unhappy." She said as she covered her eyes.
"Your highness we are very sorry— but you still came un-invited by the Marquess—" The man couldn't finish what he was saying when the Marquess popped out of nowhere with a very mad yet he was trying to hide it expression.
"Your Majesty! Welcome to my humble home." He quickly said, Ashleah felt ticked for he didn't even greet her, or her father. 'Who does he think he is?' the princess thought.
"Marquess, are you really that busy for you not to welcome us inside your HUMBLE HOME?" Ashleah heard how sarcastic the humble home was that came out from her father's lips.
"I am very sorry for the rudeness of my butler your majesty. And yes, you can go inside. But may I ask, what are the two carriages for? And the last carriage?"
Ashleah chuckled, there was a last carriage. Finally, the emperor gave his signal and both the carriages opened.
"My, that was quite a bumpy ride— You are already here Marquess Barlowe?" Nash who clearly looked like he was waiting for hours for this to happened got outside their carriage.
"Duke Deoncan, I say, what are you doing here? Is there something happening that I don't know about?" Marquess Barlowe looked quiet shocked and his breathing slowly got uneasy.
"There may be, but it won't be exciting if we told you so Marquess Barlowe." Prescott who just came out from their carriage flew to Ashleah's carriage, Kian quickly opened the Imperial Family's carriage and Prescott quickly flew to the emperor's shoulder.
"This may seem wrong, but I do think that you are putting a lot of pressure on me, your majesty." The Marquess said making Axis chuckle.
"We are indeed sorry for this Marquess, but I've been meaning to ask you this. Do you know the dragon who ruined the festival days ago?" Axis said with a drop dead serious look plastered on his face.
"Oh, what are you talking about? Are you seriously— I mean, is his majesty here because I was falsely accused by a commoner or a noble?" The Marquess nervously chuckled and the princess saw how he moved his hand giving his butler signals.
"Oh my, please do not go and help me with this." Ashleah quickly got the butler's attention, being the polite butler the man is. He quickly helped the princess who obviously faking it.
"Well then, I won't make these kind of situations last any longer. I am asking you this again, do you know the dragon from the last event?" Emperor Adler said with his eyes laid on the Marquess' Barlowe's eyes.
"Your Majesty, pardon me but you don't even have any proofs and yes, I don't know the drago—"
"I-Is it because you already forgot about me?" Giulia came out of the carriage making Ashleah smile and gave her a warm look. She whispered a 'you can do it.'
"Oh y-you caught the dragon! Good for you—"
"You caught me first, please stop spreading lies Marquess." Giulia with her little wings quickly flew to Ashleah with her deadly glaring eyes.
"My, we already have the proofs." Ashleah said with a bright smile plastered on her face. As the butler slowly walked to their side making the Marquess widened his own eyes.
"I'm so sorry. I am very tired with all of this, I've been trying to hide all of your bad deeds." The man said, Nash chuckled and finally, the high priest Rowen came out and sighed.
"My, how inhumane. Everything you did was very inhumane. Selling young kids to nobles? Marquess, you do know that the church can punish you too right?"
"Please, I am the victim here—"
"NO!" Giulia roared with her trembling eyes she spoke again. "You are not the victim here, I was, we were the victim here! So please say goodbye to your so called Marquess spot, your reign has finally finished Marquess Barlowe."
