Chapter 2 - Ch.2

A/N: Have you ever decided to do something you've been putting off, but when you begin doing it all of a sudden you get super tired? Also I'm not super versed in SW lore so be lax in judgement please, this is for entertainment and passtime only. I may post once every two weeks due to my work ethic too.

:) Have a nice day!

E/N: Have you ever had a friend who was too lazy to do things so you decide to force him to do it?

"I'm back."

The man's voice echoed throughout the ship, and in return the ship turned on its lights in acknowledgment of its resident. The lights revealed the ship's interior, showing the cargo bays filled with boxes and barrels, the storage closet a mess of tools, weapons, and pristine, untouched beds in the living quarters; except for a lone, unkempt bed with its sheets thrown to the side and a toolbox sitting atop it.

Sighing to himself and making a mental note to clean his bed later, the man then made his way up the ladder into the cockpit and sat in the pilot's seat. The man began pressing buttons and switching levers to start the engine, causing the entire ship to sputter a few times before transitioning into a soft growl. The man smiled as he patted the top of the ship's dashboard in relief. The man is Vince Khordi, a smuggler known for his hood and mask and his willingness to partake in just about any job (his mask is basically a day of the dead mask).

As Vince fell back into the pilot's seat and was about to set coordinates for Coruscant, his actions were interrupted by a holo-transmission from a Crocin[1]. Putting on his mask and hood, he accepted the transmission.

"Hey Karall, How are ya holding up down there?" Asked Vince, who lightly smirked, seeing the Crocin deflate in exasperation.

"As good as I'll ever be in this hellhole, Vince I keep telling you to slow down man, how're you supposed to do jobs if you have no energy to finish them? Anyways, get back to the Haven so we can regroup and finally finish this damn job.". Karall mumbled the last part, but was heard by Vince who nodded in agreement.

"Roger that.". With that, Vince closed the projection and punched in the coordinates to Coruscant while ascending into orbit of Naboo. The doors to his ship closed with the mechanical gears echoing through the interior of the ship. The ship began to wobble as it gradually ascended towards the sky and shot through the atmosphere. Once in orbit, Vince made the jump to hyperspace and leaned back in his chair, kicking his feet up onto the dashboard with his hands behind his head, relaxing.

-Location: Coruscant-

Exiting hyperspace, Vince piloted his way towards one of Coruscant's many shipyards. Upon landing and letting the ramp down, he walked down the ramp and leisurely made his way through alleyways and the bustle of the slums which are littered with all kinds of different people.

Eventually, Vince found himself in front of a grimy dwelling surrounded by thugs and vagrants. Passing by them without trouble, Vince made his way inside the dwelling and into the staff room. He stopped briefly to glance around, making sure no one was watching him, before kneeling down to open a trapdoor. Hopping down, he navigated through the man-hole and entered into a clearing, revealing to be a small clearing with two beds, a table with a lamp on top, and a short, mesomorphic humanoid figure leaning on a rusted pole.

"Welcome back to Rats Haven, Vince. You're late, so let's get going. We got a job to finish." Pushing himself off the pole, Karall approached Vince while stretching out his right arm. Vince, held out his right arm in response and met Karall's with a handshake.

"Yeah, let's go. You know what, after this job lets hit the town and find some lovely people to accompany us tonight." Vince spoke jokingly, but didn't expect Karall to nod in agreement.

"Yeah, let's do that. I do feel like I deserve some rest after all your fooling around." Karall passed Vince and walked into the man-hole first. Vince scanned the beds, looked for, and eventually found a small metal pendant. After putting the pendant around his neck, Vince followed after Karall.

Hopping into an airspeeder, Karall and Vince made their way to their meeting location to complete the deal with their employer. Vince fiddled with his pendent as he and Karall approached their destination.

"I really don't like the guy we're going to meet, ya'know? He just feels shady, like he's a snitch, or something." Vince said with an annoyed look. He glanced over to Karall and waited for a response as the wind blew past them. The speeder humming over the abyss as it sped towards their destination.

"You don't have to like or trust our employer, he's just the guy that gives us credits and we're his delivery boys. Simple as that." Karall retorted sternfully while pulling into a spot where they can exit. Once they both hopped out of the speeder, Karal took a few steps away and said, "We're going to have to go on foot for the rest, come on." Vince gave a nod and followed behind Karall.

While walking, Vince noticed less and less pedestrians the closer they got to their designated meeting place. "Hey man, I don't like this, it's too sketch. I have this feeling, man." Vince spoke warily, keeping an eye on his surroundings.

"It's fine, don't be childish about this." Karall briefly turned his head back and said in an exhausted voice whilst gazing towards Vince.

Arriving at the spot, the duo looked around. When they found no one other than themselves in the area. They tensed up and slowly moved their hands to their belts, hovering above their blasters as they slowly studied their surroundings.

Out of the shadows, a middle aged human with lavish robes approached them. Two bodyguards accompanied the robed man on each of his sides. The man came closer and stopped a few yards before the duo.

"I take it that you have what it is that I want?" The man asked Karall and Vince. Both Vince and Karall glance towards one another before turning their attention back towards the robed man, keeping their hands, out of the man's view, hovering over their guns.

"And you have the credits to pay?" Karall asked, shooting a glance towards the bodyguard on the man's left, which is holding a small chest. The robed man, seeing Karall's glance, nodded and said, "All two million." while motioning towards the guard with the chest. The guard moved forward and stood an arms length away from the duo before opening the chest, revealing its contents towards them so they could authenticate the reward as real.

After seeing the credits, the duo gave a nod to the aristocratic man to commence the deal while slightly lowering their guard. The aristocrat, seeing the nod, smiled and raised his right hand. At that signal, around a dozen men in clothes covered in grime and dirt rushed out of the surrounding buildings and trained their hand blasters on the pair.

Seeing the thugs, they sigh and Vince says,

"Told you."
