Lin Mu looked at Xukong with visible confusion after hearing the strange phrase.
"Make the spear sleep?" he asked.
The massive spider shifted slightly where he rested near the Ethereal Altar. The countless drifting streaks of Spatial Energy around him bent naturally toward his body before vanishing into his bone white shell.
Xukong's ten golden eyes reflected faint silver light as he regarded Lin Mu calmly.
"You already sensed it yourself, did you not?" Xukong asked. "The Spatial Energy within the husk feels different from ordinary energy."
Lin Mu nodded immediately.
"Yes." he answered after a moment of thought. "It feels… alive."
Xukong's eyes gleamed faintly.
"That is because, in a way, it still is."
Lin Mu narrowed his eyes slightly.
Xukong continued calmly.
"The husk was once part of me. Even after separation, traces of my consciousness and instinct remained within it. Those traces are weak, fragmented, and incomplete, yet they still exist."
