( Yuuki's POV )
With Barghest by my side, I headed to the new Blades of the Night outpost, and upon entering, I saw Saeko in a spar against Chrodechild and Jubei, Saeko was dominating the fight and of course the observers were amazed and curious about the mysterious swordswoman who appeared.
Roberto: Wow, who is that woman?
Yuuki: Saeko, she's one of my wives.
The Blades were so focused on the fight that they didn't notice when I appeared, but when I announced that Saeko was my wife, they all responded with an expression that said, 'Ah, that makes sense.'
Meruvis: um Yes, I see some of your techniques in that woman, but her style is somewhat different.
It was obvious I mostly used power and speed in my attacks, Saeko used speed and precise movement, that's why Chrodechild and Jubei couldn't touch her, they were using wooden swords, and when Saeko touched the two girls in the center of their chests with the tip of her sword, the battle ended, Saeko always maintained her elegant smile and she thanked them.
Saeko: Thank you for granting me this spar, I learned a lot.
Chrodechild: I should be the one to say that.
Saeko: And you, Jubei, I heard you keep calling Yuuki "Onii-chan." I'm thrilled someone like you is joining our family.
Jubei: u-um thank you.
Yuuki: I see you're settling in quickly.
Saeko: Yes, there are many interesting people here. Could you give me a tour of the castle?.
Yuuki: No problem, but first there's a small matter I need to take care of, actually I wanted you to accompany me, Chrodechild.
Saeko: Oh, this is a date, I'll go too.
Chrodechild was somewhat puzzled by Saeko's reaction; she was just joking about thinking this was a date, but she was serious about wanting to accompany us.
Chrodechild: Do you need my help, Yuuki?
Yuuki: Not your help, but I want you to see something. You'll understand when we get there.
Chrodechild: I see... So when are we going?
Without answering, I opened some dark portals beneath us, Saeko and I casually submerged, but Chrodechild was once again surprised by the sudden dive.
Chrodechild: You could warn me when you do that.
Saeko: Forgive him, Yuuki is used to this and sometimes forgets how normal people might react.
Yuuki: Not entirely true, sometimes I do it on purpose.
Saeko: Oh, very true.
Chrodechild repeatedly glanced between Saeko and me, curious about how we interacted, but before she could comment, I grabbed the girls' hands and spread my wings so I could move faster inside the shadow tunnel.
The scenery above us passed by too quickly for Chrodechild to recognize where we were going, but when I stopped, she knew exactly where we were, after all, she used to live here; the reflection above us was the castle of Astrasia.
Chrodechild: Yuuki... Why are we here?
Yuuki: We're here to see her.
I pointed to the throne where Fredegund was sitting; the expression of disbelief on Chrodechild face told me that she really didn't know that she was alive and on the side of the order.
Yuuki: You wait here.
I came out of the shadows and at the same time removed the privileges of entering and leaving the shadow tunnel for the girls, just in case someone wanted to jump out at an inappropriate moment.
///////////////////////
( Saeko's POV )
Yuuki stepped out of the shadows to do his thing the way he did things, without giving many explanations; things like that only got in the way sometimes.
As Yuuki emerged from the shadows, the woman in armor greeted him in a way that indicated this wasn't his first time at the castle, but the most interesting thing was happening next to me, the woman called Chrodechild had her hand outstretched towards the woman on the throne and seemed desperate to get out of the shadows, but she was trapped here.
Chrodechild: Fredegund!
Saeko: Yuuki said to observe, you should listen to what he said.
Chrodechild: How can I just stand there and watch? That's my sister! I-I thought I had lost her along with my parents.
Saeko: I think he already realized that.
Yuuki started what seemed like a personal show, a comedy act to entertain Fredegund. What was his purpose in doing this? That eludes me, and not only me.
Watching Yuuki perform his strange show, the girl next to me calmed down a little; her curiosity got the better of her.
Chrodechild: ...What is he doing?
Saeko: I have no idea, but you can narrow down Yuuki's motivations to three simple things... Four to be exact, but I don't think that applies here.
Chrodechild: What are those motivations?
Saeko: When he wants to help someone, when he wants to defeat someone, and when something interests him.
Yuuki told us a little about the enemy in this world, the Order; their talk about a predetermined destiny is quite annoying to me, It sounds like someone wanting to take away all my happiness, effort and difficulties just by saying it was going to happen no matter what.
Yuuki said that the strong followers of these teachings behaved in a somewhat empty manner, but I didn't see that in that girl; there was a small smile at the corner of the girl's mouth, although she seemed to want to hide it.
Whatever Yuuki was doing was working; this wasn't the reaction of someone who believed this moment was predetermined.
Chrodechild: ...Does he do that often?
Saeko: That show? No, I haven't seen him do that before, but it wouldn't be the most peculiar thing he's ever done.
Chrodechild: No, I mean, helping so much, someone he barely knows, it seems like he's always helping without me even noticing, I don't know how to thank him for all of that.
Saeko: Oh that, he takes every opportunity that comes his way, that's why so many people end up gathering around him, many of them ending up being women.
Chrodechild: ...Yes, I heard about that.
Saeko: Well, don't worry about why Yuuki is doing what he's doing; he probably wants to help your sister for both your sakes, don't worry about thanking him, just don't waste the effort he made.
Chrodechild: ...Is that how you ended up with Yuuki?
Saeko: Well, more or less, he helped me accept a part of myself that I used to think was unpleasant, but that's the past, let's focus on the future.
Yuuki's show seemed to be over, and when he bowed and promised Fredegund he would visit her later, he disappeared into the shadows, only Matsu and Regina were privileged enough to fully understand Yuuki's schemes, so when he appeared, I questioned him.
Saeko: Well, are you going to explain what all that was about?
Yuuki: That, ladies, was my foolproof plan to break Fredegund free from the order's influence.
