After a minute of stumbling down what is best described as a game trail, Yu see the shadowy husk of the ruin in the moonlight ahead. Unfortunately, the battle cries of his pursuers are closer than ever, and when he look back over his shoulder, he see glowing eyes.
They turn on a boost of speed, and soon the outer wall of the castle looms before them. It is about ten feet high and crumbling. Yu realize with horror that there are no holes on this side that are large enough to fit through. Meanwhile, Reg, a faster runner than Yu, has disappeared around the north corner of the wall.
A short spear whistles past Yu's head. He look back and see at least four of the little beasts.
