"Have you ever thought about me?"
Mr. Qin spoke lightly, his mouth carrying a slightly deep smile. Looking at Qi Jingren, he suddenly reached out to her, softly gathering her sweat-drenched hair, patiently tidying it up for her just like before.
"I have." Qi Jingren answered straightforwardly. She did not avoid his gaze nor stop his actions, allowing his blood-stained, rough hand to play with her hair.
Qin Shaobai wiped away the fine sweat on her forehead with the pad of his finger, his smile deepening, "Last time when we played Truth or Dare on the mountain, Su Jiuyi asked you a question that I want to ask you again now."
Qi Jingren looked at him, "The question of who I would save if you and my brother fell into the water at the same time?"
Qin Shaobai nodded, "Yes."
Even though he knew the answer wasn't what he wanted, he still wished to hear her say it out loud, to put his fantasies to rest. Even though the answer wouldn't really change anything, he was that eager to know.
