Summer Ford turned her body slightly and ignored him.
Ethan Laurent's gaze darkened. He stood up and, dragging his dripping body, walked slowly towards her.
Out of the corner of her eye, Summer Ford glimpsed his reaction and stood up, trying to run inside the house.
However, she was a step too late.
Ethan Laurent, with his long legs, took a few strides over and firmly blocked her path.
"Where are you going?" When he spoke, his tone was leisurely, which, to Summer Ford, felt very much like teasing a pet.
"I don't want to go down." Summer Ford took a few steps back, trying to find a different direction to leave. But Ethan Laurent, without a word, picked her up and moved toward the poolside, "Then don't go down."
He paused for a moment and added, "I'll stay up here with you."
Summer Ford was at a loss for words, blocked by him.
His arms encircled her tightly, like iron bands, hugging her so securely that she couldn't even struggle.
