Two of the most interesting types of villains are very contradicting in nature. There are the ones that are genuinely evil and just want to cause harm and destruction for no reason. It's not about power, authority, respect, wealth, or any other arbitrary value. If they do something, the only motivation is because they felt like it.
Then there are the ones who didn't even want to be a villain, but the world forced them to. Every pivotal moment in their lives was met with backlash, pain, and suffering. They didn't have any choice in what they became.
