Adventure Arklands was a massive VR online game that offered everything a player could want—vast factions, countless classes, rare equipment, bustling trade systems, guild politics, and more. But unlike ordinary MMOs, Arklands was a story-driven world, where every player’s actions could influence the direction of the game itself.
Millions logged in every day. Yet only a select few had ever gained access to the main quest. Most players spent their time wandering the lands, clearing side stories, leveling up, grinding for loot, or chasing minor objectives—while the true main story remained locked behind unknown conditions.
And then there was me.
My name is Past.
Well my in-game name is Past.
I didn’t start playing Adventure Arklands out of passion or ambition. I started because of a mistake. A very expensive one.
And because of that mistake buying this game, I was now stuck in a high-level village called Sylkeheim Village a place clearly not meant for beginners.
The problem?
This village’s recommended level was 750.
And I was still Level 1.
All because of a death penalty.
I stared at my status screen in disbelief.
What kind of game spawns a beginner into an endgame zone!?
What kind of system thinks this is fair!?
“This game is rigged,”
“Rigged down to its finest, most cruel core.”
And just like that, my so-called adventure began.
