Your Glory
It’s called football, or soccer. There’s two teams— twenty-two players on a rectangular field of green grass. Unlike those high-scoring sports like basketball or volleyball, football doesn’t promise anything.
Opportunities are a scarce resource, and can vanish as quickly as they materialise. Those ninety minutes can feel like eternity… or a heartbeat.
But that’s exactly why those players chase them. That fleeting, electric moment where ‘opportunity’ creates something perfect.
Burying that shot; threading that impossible pass; timing that clean block that lets your teammates take a sigh of relief; punching the ball away from the net you ought to protect.
It doesn’t matter where they are stationed. When a player discovers and seizes that ‘opportunity’, it crashes over them like a striking tide.
A player’s euphoria. It’s rare, it’s addictive, and it’s unforgettable. The moment you feel that? That’s the moment you’ll get hooked onto football.
Or soccer, if you want to call it that.
