between danger

Would one sacrifice oneself for love? A question that has wandered through the labyrinth of minds since time immemorial. How could a person squander their most precious possession—life itself—for a feeling that is unseen, unmeasured, and whose essence is unknown? She found herself in a palace surrounded by death on all sides, with no escape, no refuge, save for a riddle that, if unsolved, would claim her life. Yet, the strange thing was that the riddle itself—that inanimate object without a heart—loved her, and dissolved before her as the wind bends to a rose in the morning. Is it conceivable that two hearts could vie for the same love? That more than two could fall in love with the same soul? By what scale are feelings measured, and by what logic is passion distributed among hearts? And how can she escape them all... when they desire no release from her, and she finds no salvation except through them?
